It is kind of amazing that every four years we have a province-wide spirited conversation about the places in which we live, culminating with fair and peaceful elections. 🗳️ It’s also troubling to me how low the voter turnout-out was yesterday. 39% in Stittsville, 36% across Ottawa.

The polls in Toronto weren’t wrong. They just have different methodologies. Some apparently count all of the votes Tobi thinks he should have.

Well, CBC has called it for Sutcliffe. Let’s remind him daily of his promises.

Ottawa is the Canadian city that most needs a leadership change. From a city-building & governance perspective, it’s the city that comes to mind when I think about a city that should be SO much better than it is. That’s in large part due to who has been in the Mayor’s chair. Don’t split the vote.

This devastating 10th high is brought to you by a majority of incumbent councillors and mayors who care more ab road speed/car driving than safety and sustainability. Today is voting day. Vote like it matters. Vote like the lives of your kids, neighbors are on the the line. Vote for #OurBestOttawa

But as Ottawa’s transit system teeters on a precipice, our infrastructure is crumbling, road deaths at a 10 year high, and homelessness and affordability top list of concerns all Sutcliffe can offer is the same, tired, low-tax screed that got us here after spending his term working for developers.

Tomorrow Ottawa has an opportunity to say that we deserve change. Make sure to vote. And stop letting those who have voted against the cities get back into power.

It was a lengthy conversation, based on good reasoning, and providing solid answers to some tough questions, but in the end I prevailed. Long known as one of the toughest demographics to crack, I have finally secured the chicken vote.

You work hard, pay your taxes, and do your part. You deserve a city that does its part, too. I’m running for mayor because Ottawa can do better. Not in another four years. Now. Let’s get the basics right, put Ottawa back on the right track, and build a city that works.
