#RandomGameSaturday Sweet Home (1989) A survival-horror RPG based on the goopy haunted house movie. Kinda hard! Kinda cool!

#RandomGameSaturday Street Racer (PS1) An obviously Super Mario Kart-inspired racer, with some very stereotypical characters. It also released on SNES/Genesis/other older systems, but the PS1 version is barely an upgrade on those (it does have redbook audio music though, which is nice).

For #RandomGameSaturday this week, I reached for our PS1 shelves and came away with a more action-first sequel: Dino Crisis 2.

me explaining to my child: see, not all the distant objects are rendered yet in the early morning hours. because of this, mother nature uses a technique called “morning fog” to help obscure the limited draw distance and prevent items from clipping into view while they load

Finding photos of the two world series managers & overlaying text on top of a five-sided home plate shape were both impossible tasks in the past, so I can understand why they would need to lean on ai to make this possible

I am seeing a lot of “I didn’t know going for one credit clears was even a *thing*” in response to this, and folks, let me direct you to my wonderful partner @lordbbh.bsky.social and his archive of 750+ 1CC Twitch streams

Painful review of the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle on Steam that really highlights how destructive the continue system was to people's perception of arcade games. The beat 'em ups mentioned play wildly different from one another if you're actually trying to survive on 1 credit.

Would love to get my hands on a Cerezo Osaka pink Capcom jersey from any year. Always one of the coolest looking kits.

#RandomGameSaturday Ico (PS2) I had a friend in school who was like “I played this crazy new game and you have to try it” and luckily clued me into Ico before it got known and expensive.

#RandomGameSaturday Silent Hill 4: The Room (PS2) The first Silent Hill game to get some divisive reviews, but I still liked it! It was neat watching that room get progressively weirder and creepier. Akira Yamaoka brought unsettling and banger music once again.

For this week's #RandomGameSaturday, I reached into our C64 cubby and came away with some Epyx neon cover and Kixx combo goodness: Winter Games! I dig the accidental trans flag trails

#RandomGameSaturday Picross DS (DS) (JP) [ピクロス DS] Picross is awesome. I love picross. I could do picross puzzles every day. Recently purchased this one from @japanretrodirect.bsky.social. Cannot recommend him enough when it comes to buying games from Japan.

This looks to be an exciting year of Red Wings hockey will have to find a nice cozy spot to faceplant onto the ground after most games

This is an incredible video about the fun in video game challenges. Also, lots of cool people making appearances in here. Definitely worth finding some time to watch this!

This new video that brings together players from fighting games, arcades, Souls, speedrunning, MMOs and more to explore what difficult games teach us—and why finally overcoming them can feel so rewarding! Thanks to @tedbob84.bsky.social for the amazing thumbnail! youtu.be/XLr4vxSFSIc

Everything about Japanese baseball is entertaining. Fully exploring the limits of what it means to draw a square.

tracing Japanese managers challenging an ump’s call, I’ve watched this 500x

#RandomGameSaturday Shadows of the Damned (360) Suda51 knows how to make a game with style, and this is a wild one. I was fully on board with it and had a good time.

blender has been a little confusing to learn at times but more than anything it’s just so much fun to get the hang of how a system works. can’t imagine how much less fun it would be to tell gen ai to do it. shout out to doing Regular Computer Stuff

I decided it was a good idea to play some Street Fighter 4 tonight (yeah! you heard me!) and played one of the dumbest/funniest matches I've ever had in this I don't think I can play a fighting game anymore without it turning into stupid chaos

It's always interesting to look at the sales charts in historical Japanese game magazines. You can never tell what was going to be the #1 game that week
