there really is something so heartbreaking seeing huge studios with life long fans closing down while more and more genAI games start to flood the industry. support human creativity. support artists, storytellers, coders, and anyone else who works to bring raw spirit to these things.

I hope workers in other game studios see WoTC unionizing, and see the mass layoffs and BioWare closing and decide it's time to put their foot down. What do we have to lose by unionizing? A job that you're afraid every day you'll be laid off from anyway? UNIONIZE THE GAME INDUSTRY!

There is something so soul crushing about creating art that pushes the needle in the games industry, only to be thanked by using the capital gained from said art to push the ones who created it out of a job.

There might be no jobs left in the games industry for women, queer people, people of colour, disabled people, or any other minority, but at least we will always know the consensus of at least two dozen identical 40-year-old white dudes.
