A child dying of cancer spent her final days fighting to free her wrongfully detained father from ICE custody. This comes just weeks after a mother from Maryland was denied the right to be at her son’s side as he died from cancer. Not one dime for this cruelty. www.cbsnews.com/amp/chicago/...

NEW: The ICE killing of Alex Pretti, the second in Minneapolis, prompts quick legal action. After ICE agents killed Alex Pretti on Saturday, lawyers responded quickly — leading to one TRO issued before the night's end aimed at preserving evidence of the killing. My report at Law Dork:

The president unilaterally decided to attack a sovereign nation and kidnap its leader, and now he says he's just going to run that county himself for a while too. Call your representatives now and demand they impeach him.

Maduro was unquestionably a bad actor, but no President has the authority to unilaterally decide to use force to topple a government, thrusting us and the region into uncertainty without justification, a defined end-state or a real plan for preventing the instability that could come next.

And so it begins. These people will not storm the Capital building. They will not assault police officers or hang gallows for bureaucrats. They respect the peaceful transfer of power. Anyone who says the two parties are the same are blatantly wrong. They are not, we are not. #resist

I’m trying, and I hope other people will try, to hold onto the simple notion that a US president cannot simply declare a federal law that was passed last year and literally upheld this week to be a nullity—even if it’s a not-so-hot law. The Congress is the body that can amend or repeal federal laws.

www.theatlantic.com/internationa... Read this by @anneapplebaum.bsky.social It's a foretaste of what we all will face as of tomorrow. Can we survive this future? Not unless we are bold and serious, elect leaders who lead, and kick out those out to destroy Europe. It's existential. It's real.

If your plan to counter antisemitism actually advances the very same antisemitic conspiracy theories that have repeatedly fueled antisemitic mass violence — including the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history — it’s not a plan to counter antisemitism.
SCOOP: The Heritage Foundation’s 'Project Esther,' a conservative plan to counter antisemitism, sees the problem as one in which a handful of “masterminds” including Jews like George Soros are seeking to “dismantle Western democracies, values and culture,” according to internal Heritage documents.
