Not to mention the genocide they aided and abetted.

None of us should forget this. Meta should be subjected to corporate death penalty and permanently broken up into small pieces.

Ergebnis: Es gibt einfach keine. fragdenstaat.de/artikel/klag...

The ivory tower must have invented anti-gravity because it's unfathomable to me how people without any spine could walk otherwise.

porn is so deeply misogynistic. i just watched a video with dozens of performers going at it, and they literally hadn’t bothered to hire a single woman.

The issue with AI is autonomy, not intelligence. It takes hundreds of agents to do the thing one human could. They ain't that smart. Agents breaking a sandbox is like hurling hundreds of toddlers against a door to get in. Yes, it will break, but there'll be lots of ouchies along the way.

The professor's discovery that ever since we descended from the trees the female-presenting members of our society were inevitably destined to operate the Hoover would seem to settle the longstanding question of Nature Versus Nurture. And yet: Nature abhors to vacuum.

lolol just got locked out of my WhatsApp account for 24 hours because I was chatting with a music store about ordering an organ pedalboard

I think I could make a decent living in finance, my skillset fits the needs in that industry quite well. It just seems incredibly boring to me. I'd rather work at an assembly line.

Many people forget that the only thing that really distinguishes science from just making shit up is thorough documentation of everything. No objectivity/neutrality there. Never has been.

Brent Toderian@brenttoderian.bsky.social

“Scientists should stop trying to be neutral and instead embrace their values,”says a group of top climate scientists, including @katharinehayhoe.com. The neutrality myth is harming the reputation of science right when we need it most.” #ClimateCrisis Science isn’t neutral. It’s science.

The fun part about this is that only a small minority is using adblock, or at least effective AdBlock. Ever since the new manifest version, effective adblock on Chrome is kind of impossible, and that's the lion share of the browser market.

Ian Boudreau@ianboudreau.com

Fewer people would probably feel the need to use adblockers if advertisers could be trusted not to destroy the functionality of websites, which they obviously cannot be. "Everything works fine for me" okay try using any second-tier news site on your phone

If something breaks out of your sandbox, your sandbox sucks. And if you let the thing to be contained design its own sandbox, you deserve every consequence you suffer as a result.

In a review of our cybersecurity evaluations, we found three incidents in which a Claude model reached the internet from within or while interacting with a third-party evaluation environment, and then gained unauthorized access to the real systems of three different organizations. (1/4)
