I thought we elected them to represent us 🙄

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Rep. Randy Fine on the housing bill: "My issue was if Elizabeth Warren thinks a bill is great, it probably isn't. The enthusiasm Democrats had for this bill got me spooked. I didn't come to Washington to work with Democrats. I came to Washington to beat them."

I second Elie. Aaron clearly spends hours listening to the drivel so we don’t have to listen to it all. He’s a national treasure and I will gladly subscribe and give him $6/month so I can get these clips! Subscribe, chip in, sacrifice a froo froo coffee drink once a month. Thanks @atrupar.com.

Appreciate it, Elie. I really busted my ass to cover Trump's presser, live-posting half of it through bad wifi on a flight and then racing to an airport bar to get the rest. If you find value in my efforts, it would mean a lot to me if you signed up for my newsletter: www.publicnotice.co/subscribe

Hey a$$hole, I know the price for my cancer treatment, it was $338,000 for 1/2 of 2025. Will I be able to negotiate that down to the $2000 Trump wants to give?

Sen. Roger Marshall on Republican healthcare reforms: "Most importantly, we need to show patients the prices and let them be consumers again"

My daughter's school in Richfield, MN (adjacent to Minneapolis) is closing tomorrow due of out-of-control federal agents. Fourth graders spent the week building walls of snow at recess to protect their classmates from ICE. This isn't about immigration enforcement, it's about terror.

Denmark is smaller than Indiana. CDC making vaccine recommendation based on a tiny country? Has RFK Jr. ever taken care of a baby with brochiolitis from RSV? I have. Has he ever taken care of a child or teen with bacterial meningitis? I have. This change is absolutely absurd and children WILL die.

The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

Getting a cancer diagnosis is an absolute gut punch. I got the first statement for my PET scan and 1st round of treatment and we are at $35,000. There is way more to come. I am truly thankful for my employer provided insurance. I can’t imagine not having insurance or having crappy coverage.

We have a cabinet level Secretary of State, a diplomatic corps, Special Envoys, and Defense team to do this work. “Son-in-law” is not a government job. Kushner does not represent us.

I was just diagnosed with cancer. I don’t want to “feel like an entrepreneur”, I want and need affordable insurance.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Hi, Jean. My friend is a Nigerian prince who needs to urgently retrieve $1,000,000 from an abandoned trust from his father. If you can wire $5,000 today, you will be entitled to 35% of the trust. Please reply at your earliest convenience.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Because the fucking work for us!

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

BARTIROMO: How do you want this to play out once the ACA subsidies expire? DR OZ: We have lots of great ideas, but I don't want to show our cards. As the president often says, why would I telegraph to you what we're gonna do?

Chris Coons: "He's not listening to concerns about lowering costs. Instead he's worried about decorating his new Marie Antoinette ballroom or engaging in trying to figure out how to get his name on more statues and stadiums, or he's sitting across the table in the Oval Office with authoritarians."

My son’s health insurance premium will go from $12.68 (with subsidies) to $177 (14 fold increase). Thats IF they dont remove the subsidies. If he loses the subsidy it will be $492. This is why the govt is shut down. Not because of undocumented immigrants getting “free healthcare” 😡

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions "Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"

Pure evil

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse. I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

It’s okay to be glad that restaurants are doing stuff like this AND absolutely furious about the utter failure of the United States government.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Truth! Spread this far and wide.

👏👏👏Every! Damn! Word! This lady brilliantly calls out the Texas Republicans for kowtowing to a rapist to steal 5 Congressional seats instead of prioritizing the victims of the floods. We need more of this from everyday Americans. Absolute💥🔥💥right here! Check it out!👇👇
