The political media is visibly chafing at the current situation, where Republicans are glaringly awful, fucking everything up, running deviant candidates everyone hates, and Dems are just being normal & winning. The force is out of balance. They are viscerally eager to go after Dems about something.

"People Magazine with is A VERY LOW IQ MAGAZINE WITH TERRIBLE CIRCULATION has chosen Noah Wiley who everyone knows is very ugly and not nice for their Sexiest Man Of The Year, because they have Tod Derangement Syndrome, even though I have almost had sex with FIVE DIFFERENT WOMEN who said I was th

Honestly trying to remember the last major issue the right pushed that wasn't based on some type of bigotry and I'm coming up blank. I mean, obviously pre 2016 there was a lot of "lower taxes" kind of stuff, but there has to be something since then? Just can't think of any.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

This is just pure racism. Republicans objectively are campaigning on little more than bigotry.

Also: there isn't a single voter for thinks punishing or restricting rights for people who are LGBTQ is a thing we need to do as a country that is ever going to vote for you.

Feminist Proper Gander@dappergander.bsky.social

hey @electdemocrats.bsky.social pay attention, this is how you do it instead of pledging to 'protect girls sports' if you negotiate on republicans' terms, you won't sway voters: they'll see you as a half measure and vote republican anyway but you'll suppress your own base turnout

Yes, I get that some people show up in your Facebook and X feeds to say, "I am a life long Democrat, but after what [Dem candidate] said about supporting trans people I am going to vote for [GOPer who is an absolute piece of s**t human being]," but those people are all lying to you.

If you can't even bring yourself to say *this*, you have no business running as a Democrat and we should work to find a different candidate next time around. Even if you're the incumbent. bsky.app/profile/besh...

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

1/2 Will confess that I no longer give to candidate campaigns. There are a number of reasons for this: 1. Lack of certainty how much $ will go to candidate. 2. Lack of certainty that whatever does go to a candidate won't end up in their Leadership PAC and be used on vacations & luxury items.

NEW: We asked readers if they've been drowning in political texts, calls, mailers and TV ads, and to share pics of what they're getting. Hooo boy, did we get responses! Some fumed its been "harassment." Some won't donate to Dem campaigns ever again. www.huffpost.com/entry/voters...

2/2 3. Uncertain I'm not just paying to help them win a job that's just fundraising for themselves. 4. Constant, systemic lack of willingness by candidate's (and my) party to actually attempt to tackle the things I am giving them money to do.

I see a lot of candidates running on anti-corruption messaging this year, which is good. But I don't see many (if any) specifics about what they'd do in an overhaul, so my assumption is that the theoretical overhaul is not something Dems are all that serious about enacting.

The New York Times describes this as a “Republican rift over Ramaswamy’s attack ad.” But this does not fully grasp what is actually happening, because we are not witnessing a “rift,” but an abyss; A vast, yawning, gaping moral abyss in our politics. charliesykes.substack.com/p/we-stand-w...

People don't vote to punish. That's just not a thing in the head of anyone but people making excuses. The Dems have overseen decades of policies that saw workers increasingly abandoned for the PMC who were allowed to take over the remaining institutions. Dems were either complicit or incompetent

Seems crazy to say in 2026 because it doesn't *feel* better day-to-day right now, but: the way society treats people who are LGBTQ. Not even close to what it was when I was a kid and a young adult.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Over the years I have come to believe that the majority of upper-middle-class white liberal pundits honestly assume they cannot possibly be racist because they are liberal, but in fact very much are.

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

wait a democrat is polling +3 in montana’s congressional race and he is a smokejumper that looks like this? why has no one told the thirsty masses?

This is a really good piece. It also feels like something that might not have been written had the Fever's GM not come out and made that absurd statement about players' complaints about harassment being a myth. www.nytimes.com/athletic/770...

nytimes.comThe Indiana Fever want a championship. Is their reputation around the WNBA in the way?Indiana may need to swing big in free agency. But will some players' perceptions of the Fever and its fans hamper their shot at a title?

The Knicks continue to find ways to be a s**t organization. Not only aren't they getting their staff championship rings (a long-standing tradition in the NBA), they sent a fake email to staff saying they *were* getting rings as a phishing test.

My rule of thumb used to be, "replace whatever group they're denigrating with 'Jew' and read it back to yourself out loud and see how that sounds," but honestly I think "You support this? You want more Jews in positions of power?" on mainstream conservative outlets is just around the corner.

The conservative war against people who ride bikes - which has a long, deep history and was one of the main content drivers in the conservative-talk radio era - is f**king weird.
