Add your name and call on Andy Burnham to: - Meet the UK's international climate and nature commitments - Pass the Nature + National Security Bill in this Parliament - Reject all new oil and gas licences, including Rosebank, and deliver a just transition.

🔴 We heard the Government is going to take action at Labour Conference 2026. But haven't we heard this before? 🌍 We need more than words. The Government must respond to the climate and nature crisis with the urgency it demands. 🌿 Join us to take action 👉 zerohour.uk

Tom Watson! A man I used to think had integrity.

As former Labour minister Tom Watson joins Palantir, please read this devastating exposé by @petergeoghegan.bsky.social & @lucasamin.bsky.social of how the company, with Peter Mandelson's help, wormed its way into the UK government to sell its dire & dangerous products. www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...

Following a recent report alleging that Raiffeisen facilitated >$1B in imports of sanctioned goods into Russia, B4Ukraine and @banktrack.bsky.social are calling on the relevant regulatory authorities to immediately investigate the allegations and review AO Raiffeisenbank’s continued access to SWIFT.

Dear @Premier Inn, Here's a suggestion. How about providing a separate bin for recyclable waste? Then you can make a less condescending sign to say what goes where, instead of implying your guests are committing an eco sin by using the only bloody bin available. Thanks.

I sat and watched Burnham's speech on Friday feeling hopeful. It didn't even last out the weekend.

Hard to think of a more deeply damaging start to Burnham’s premiership than giving green light to new oil & gas in N. Sea, if true. It won’t lower bills or lead to greater energy security but will drive an even hotter planet. What a terrible signal to give to rest of the world #ClimateVandalism

So this happened: 1. UBS was told by a Swiss government body to review its whole passive investments portfolio for human rights impacts 2. The bank basically refused to do that 3. They now face no sanctions whatsoever This is what people mean by #CorporateImpunity

BankTrack@banktrack.bsky.social

The Swiss govt complaint body for the OECD Guidelines has found UBS did not fully address 2 out of its 3 recommendations. Yet still the Swiss banking giant continues to hold shares in US private prison companies CoreCivic and GEO Group without taking action. www.banktrack.org/article/swis...

A major investigation into the murder of Indigenous leader Berta Cáceres in Honduras in 2016 concludes this was an organized criminal operation funded by money from two development banks, CABEI and FMO. #JusticeForBerta insightcrime.org/news/report-...

So. The right has fractured, but not really lost seats overall. PVV losses more or less equal JA21 and FvD gains. In the centre D66 and CDA soaked up all the losses from the NSC's total collapse, and gained a bunch more, it seems from the left.

It's a good result in that Wilders has suffered, and his chances of being in the next coalition are down. But it's a bad result for the left. Left votes moving to the centre looks like the main change going on here, which after two years of a failing right/far-right coalition is really not good.

A new study shows how much the global oil and gas industry is contributing to renewable energy. And it is ... 1.42%. scienmag.com/fossil-fuel-... This kind of melts away a lot of arguments from the finance sector about why they should keep propping up these companies so they can "transition".

It's almost as if we can't rely on the global banking sector to solve climate change

The Net Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA) has officially dissolved, but little changes — it had already lost credibility. Banks won’t align with climate goals voluntarily, regulation is now essential. #NZBA #ClimateFinance www.banktrack.org/article/bank...

Minor spoiler alert... They have money. There is childcare in the US for people who can afford it, I assume. The whole reason for the break up seems to be that one of them has to sacrifice their career on the altar of their marriage & kids. But shit, just get a child minder. What am I missing.

The new ICE song by Jesse Welles nails it. ICE isn’t recruiting heroes, it’s recruiting the bitter, the rejected, the ones desperate for a badge to cover their failures. Losers with power become the most dangerous kind. (c/o Caroline Codsi)
