guys remember—don’t let the Manhattan sized supercomputers that we don’t understand and can’t trust get hooked up to the autonomous killer robots we are also building. If something goes wrong it would be like that movie… Short Circuit

I think, in the end, that the various Reasons people give for why it's good and fine that they are very aggro on this here internet and actually this is upholding the true and the good and the beautiful are always a bit less persuasive than: no you're not, you're just being weirdly mean, stop it.

Leaving Heroes Con and heading home. But, of course, a Heroes visit wouldn't be complete without getting a glimpse of Don Rosa's cranky-ass THIS IS NOT DUCKTALES sign. #HeroesCon2026

If you have ever emailed a writer to let them know you enjoyed something they wrote, you are among the noblest and best and most saintly in this entire world, and I hope you sleep really well tonight.

If you’re a cartoonist and feel like you don’t know how to make a short comic interesting read three adult Osamu Tezuka manga and realize that you can do any insane plot twist in your comic without explaining the Lore first as long as it’s fun to read

Comics have somehow ducked unionization for 100 years. This is more publishing house than artist related, but its a huge step in the right direction.

Higher-level writing programs should include a botany/plant identification class, being unable to describe the natural world in language places limits on one's visual imagination in ways we only dimly realize

Leaving aside the use of AI slop to make a point that could have **easily** been made with five minutes of drawing (a big thing to leave aside), AI takes away your control. Here Snoopy has a look on his face like he's about to disagree. Was that intended? Bc that's what this cartoon is telling us

As a death penalty abolitionist, "Trump bringing back the firing squad" seems like a pretty big strategic win for our side. Feels brutal, barbaric and cruel to normies despite being significantly less cruel than lethal injection as practiced in the USA is.

Actually Niche: James Salter’s Light Years Slash Maraud Not really niche: a brooklyn 99 comic star trek: enterprise “season five” comic

✍️ Writers of Bsky: Instead of “what IP do you want to write for” I have a better question — What NICHE IP do you want to write for? The IP that you’re sure no one cares about but you. I have a list: - Scarecrow and Mrs King - The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh - Doyle’s The Lost World - JAG (not NCIS)

"It says here that your only graphic design experience is laying out an indie rock magazine from 1998-2002" "Was that a question?" "Not really. You're hired."

I believe the current trend of mixing various candies in popcorn is leading theatre patrons to dig deeper and more aggressively into their bags for perfect candy/popcorn ratio fistfuls and is thus creating bag ruffling volumes higher than previously known to theatrical experience

Listening in to the live Artemis II feed. I love the way they talk about everything (jargon, acronyms, plaing English) . Like a bit ago, an astronaut was talking emotionally about how beautiful the views were of the approaching moon, and Houston's CapCom person responded plainly “Copy. Moon joy.”

Q: where do all the the tax dollars go? A: the justice department throws away frames when they want to change photos.

Yes, they do. Mine is Star Trek Corps of Engineers. I want adult captain Molly O'Brien flying around solving problems and building Star Fleet infrastructure!

Does ever Trekkie have a Star Trek show idea? Mine is a JAG type star trek show about a the small group of Starfleet investigators who go from starship to starship holding legal inquiries about star trek stuff.

These would be the folks who reign hellfire down on officers who willingly break the prime directive, or follow up on a Riker “belay that order...” casual Friday mutiny. The fun thing would be visiting a new ship every few episodes. Seeing how the culture of each one is continuous, but distinct

I guess boycotting Harry Potter feels pretty trivial to me, because I'm an adult. if someone told me I shouldn't eat Gerber's baby food, I'd be like, that is no problem. I'm way ahead of you
