I swear the Goodreads website is hosted on some basement 386. I haven't seen a site this regularly slow in ages. The mobile app is only slightly faster.

My latest for Dame on state capture. What we’re seeing under Trump isn’t ordinary graft or corruption; it’s a realignment of the political system to enable corruption. The consequences are far more insidious.

Remember that time I “Jurassic Parked” a dragon and then threw in some Edith Piaf just to prove to my teenaged daughter that I could? Well now you can read that for free. 🙂 (Now with cool art by @thaisibir.bsky.social!)

It's book day! Cressida and her friends have finally discovered the source of their Headmaster's obsession, but can they stop it before he makes good on their school's ominous "change the world" motto? A magical school that isn't TERFY, teens standing up for good, and a middle finger to eugenics.

It's been a good month for my sci-fi scripts. My pilot, M-CAP2, won StoryPros' combined sci-fi/fantasy/horror category. And yesterday I found out my feature, THE COMMUNING ENGINE, is a quarterfinalist in the PAGE Awards (top 10% out of ~10k submissions), moving on to the next level in competition. 🎉

as someone who has disabilities, I am really tired of AI proponents using the disability argument. It's demeaning to us, infantilizes us, and doesn't help If they really wanted to help, they would build accessible cities and make existing ones more accessible. But they don't care about us

The level of stupidity here is staggering.

So I helped get an indie feature film made and it's now officially released on demand! STAY WITH ME -- about a woman with an undiagnosed mental illness and the 2 closest people in her life who had to pick up the pieces after her suicide. Check it out on Prime Video, AppleTV, more. bit.ly/3EE536M

I've been knee deep in revisions on 5 scripts the past 3 weeks, each for different reasons. It's been good mental exercise -- and more fun than I expected. Hopefully it'll be worth the time and effort. Nice to take a break today though -- such a perfect LA day outside. (Photo from my walk.)

They used my book. I own the rights. They did not ask for nor do they have my permission.

Tariffs are taxes. "Trump insists that tariffs are paid for by foreign countries. In fact, its is importers — American companies — that pay tariffs, and the money goes to U.S. Treasury. Those companies, in turn, typically pass their higher costs on to their customers in the form of higher prices."

pbs.orgTrump favors huge new tariffs. How do they work?Former President Donald Trump has proposed a 60% tariff on goods from China and a 20% tariff on everything else the United States imports. This week, he raised the ante still higher.

Thousands of datasets from Data.gov have disappeared since Trumps inauguration. Whats going on? Deleted datasets "disproportionately" come from the Department of Energy, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mashable.com/article/gove...

mashable.comThousands of datasets from Data.gov have disappeared since Trump's inauguration. What's going on?The answer is more complicated than you might think.

So far the videos & ads leading up to the FireAid concert have had airplanes, an ice rink, and a neighborhood & person on fire. All triggering today. 😭 Not helping.

Real leaders take responsibility. You gut aviation safety and tell workers they're out of jobs in critical roles, accidents will happen. That's why the safety programs were created in the first place. This is clearly not a single-fault situation, but blaming it on something else is not leadership.
