Why do media outlets keep using the formulation "Trump makes assertion without substantiation" instead of saying, "Trump lies again?"

Some Republicans will try to distance themselves from Trump as the midterms near. Don't let them get away with it. They've enabled his cruelty, incompetence and corruption. And if they can con enough people in the midterms, they'll go back in lockstep w/ him afterward. Vote against all Republicans.

Threats aside, Vance is also just full of shit. The U.S. seized 19kg of fentanyl at the Canadian border last year, or 0.19 percent of the total fentanyl seized. Meanwhile, in 2023, Canada seized 27,000 prohibited weapons at the border. The U.S. seized 459 weapons coming from Canada.
