Heyy, MEDITERRANEA INFERNO is getting a premium limited physical edition on PS5, published by @lostincult.co.uk and packed with exclusive perks and collectible goodies! It's also a great way to support real indie games and the innovative vision they bring to the scene, so please help me share!!

The crowd singing along to the final chorus of Maps on the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs Live at the Royal Albert Hall record is a moment of pure beauty for those of you who like to fill your existence with such things.

This is a really good review

My review of Phantom Blade Zero for Eurogamer is up! Some highly impressive combat here, and really beautiful world design. Yet balance & quality issues in the build I played let it down somewhat. www.eurogamer.net/phantom-blad...

AI isn't good at empathy. It's good at sycophancy

Social Market Foundation@smfthinktank.bsky.social

🚨 NEW POLLING🚨 AI is now so good at mimicking empathy that many people prefer it to their friends. 1 in 5 UK adults have used an AI chatbot for personal or relationship advice – and 54% of them found it more helpful than talking to friends or family.

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

BioWare made games for people in an industry that often reduced them to less. I don’t think this business is interested in people anymore

Hello! I'm looking to speak to: 1. Devs involved in the decompilation scene who can speak to how the community has been affected by AI. 2. Devs who have or suspect they have had their game copied by AI vibe coders. If either of those is you, contact me at rick@ricklane.co.uk. Shares appreciated!

Just remembered the Alan Partridge mod I made for The Typing of the Dead: Overkill about 8 years ago.

Humans are fundamentally optimistic creatures. We see 8000+ Next Fest demos and assume that Valve might actually do something for its 30%, even in the face of overwhelming evidence that it will do absolutely fuck all.

People using AI to reverse engineer games to then turn around and publish clones is straight up theft. Why is anyone pretending otherwise? The only thing genAI is good at making is fucking talentless thieves. Prosecute the lot of them. Sue them to hell.

I spent a half hour trying to figure out the right way to formulate a paragraph for my book's introduction and when it finally clicked into place, I literally clapped my hands and said "that's it!" out loud. That's the kind of pure nerdy excitement that AI steals from us.

Ghosts abound in The Séance of Blake Manor, but this edition also glimpses into my soul, as I wrote for the booklet. Bleeding across the pages are reflections on my own fractured identity, Ireland's scarlet-soaked history, the machinations of mystery, and how it all flows through the game.

Have you ordered your PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2 physical copy of The Séance of Blake Manor yet? There's still time! ⌛🐦‍⬛ Pre-order now: https://bit.ly/4yyFH0H
