Surely this won’t backfire

“.. The US refining industry is running the hardest **for this time of the year** in at least 25 years (ever?). October is when typically many plants go into seasonal maintenance, but that has been delayed due to eye-watering margins and the pressure from Trump.” - @javierblas.bsky.social ⛽️

good night

Nebraskans staying up until 2 am to watch their team lose to the quarterback they wanted rid of. He didn't even have to play the whole game to do it. Over and over and over Nebraska football has got to be the most miserable fandom

Never forget the “1” in that 2022 Northwestern 1-11

Chris Vannini@chrisvannini.com

David Braun took over a 1-11 Northwestern program on the eve of the 2023 season, and he's 22-20 with two bowls in three years. He's done a real solid job all things considered.

This suddenly looks a lot more manageable. Sure OSU and Indiana are auto-losses. But big downgrades to Washington, Illinois, Rutgers, Oregon, and Iowa. MSU and Maryland still look the same (not good)

People on Bluesky will hate this of course but this is fine to tout. You’re trying to win Texas, not Minnesota

BREAKING: 20+ Republican leaders just endorsed our campaign for US Senate. We’re bringing Texans together onto one team to take power back for working people. Because the real fight in this country isn't left versus right — it's top versus bottom.

as college football season starts, I think the @sickoscommittee.org Starter Pack is probably the one most likely to fill your timeline with CFB posting all year long

Yeah, at any country music concert held in Lincoln or Omaha, 75% of the crowd grew up in like Elkhorn or Papillion or whatever.

Yes. "Rurality" is for many Americans just a costume they put on! bsky.app/profile/mike...

The Ocarina remake is probably enough to make me get a Switch 2, which, dammit Nintendo, that's how they get you. I should probably just bust out the N64, or any of the like 3 other consoles that I have the virtual original version on

(C) is the most correct, but it’s not quite entirely correct either. It does require more definition regarding the forecast area.

The latest from YouGov (n ~ 7.8k) -- Good morning to everyone whose job involves communicating about probability: Just under half of Americans can correctly interpret a weather forecast! yougov.com/en-us/daily-...

Since Kansas State and Collin Klein are getting a ton of preseason attention, I will say that I have a very fond memory of being in the Fat Toad bar in Lincoln the night that Klein and KSU beat Oklahoma back in 2011. Clear memory of that night and that game.

What would you put on the Mount Rushmore of all time Tweets? (Mount Rushmore means 4. Do not be a coward and hedge by saying more than 4. Make a decision. (Less than 4 is fine though))

My 4-year/old just learned about the concept of infinity and is now throwing a tantrum over it. “It’s weird! I don’t like it. I just want numbers to stop!”

Vehicles are safer and more reliable even if they cost 80 trillion dollars Doing anything with accounts (banking, financial, credit, insurance, just transactions in general) is so much easier &faster, and with greater tools for visibility and tracking

This should be it for EA

Jason Schreier@jasonschreier.bsky.social

EA officially goes private tonight, meaning: - EA will no longer trade on the NASDAQ for the first time in 36 years - All stockholders of EA (including many employees) will receive $210/share - EA will take on $18 billion (!) in debt, putting it on the hook to pay ~$1.8 billion/year in interest
