Kudos to NBC New York for saying it without equivocation: "The US is to blame for the world falling behind in the fight against climate change."

Typhoon #Champi is big, like really big. Tropical storm force winds extend an average of 300 miles out from the center. That is roughly the size of Texas. When Irma hit Florida in 2017, its tropical storm force winds extended about 230 miles from the center, and that was a very large hurricane.

$25B direct cost. $6B share purchase cost. $6B transmission line cost. A $37B total for a project sold to the public at $2B . It’s a huge economic debacle delivered by LNP/ALP dunces and fat cat bureaucrats. And no one is held to account. #fail #auspol

I really wish politicians understood this. Actually, they probably do. “Jussi Kangasharju, head of computer science at the University of Helsinki, said that while datacentres brought a limited number of jobs, potentially boosting the local economy, the benefits on a national level were minimal.”

As I sit next to a river that flows into the lower reservoir planned for use in the Snowy 2.0 project, it’s only appropriate I #FOI the external cost review report into the $2B, no $6B, no $12B, now $40B project. We’re paying … we have a right to see it. #auspol

They both did it, it was a joint effort, it’s one of the crazier things to happen in the national security space (which is really saying something) and every government should be scrambling to reduce dependence on—and as soon as possible get off—Starlink/shield or any Musk product, including the US.

Good news that the ABC backed down. Woeful decision to go after Michael Slezak for his clarion call op ed at AFR. ASIC is trying to curtail scrutiny of corporations and directors with its proposals to reduce media access to information - at a time when more, not less, scrutiny is required.

When olives are one of your last agricultural resources, how incredibly cruel to have them destroyed by “settlers” for no other reason than to make your life there unliveable. While beating up a foreign photo-journalist. Aided and abetted by Israeli soldiers.

Thank you to everyone who stood with me over the years. It’s been a scary journey but I have always been grounded in my work and ability to provide exemplary service to my constituents. Trump and his administration have been after me since I arrived in Congress.

BREAKING WaPo: Trump officials scrutinized Rep. Ilhan Omar in 2019. They didn't find citizenship issues.
The earlier review of Omar's immigration records looked at many of the same issues being investigated now.

What if an entire country had two full years to look itself in the eye and internalize the idea that they'd elected the King Of The Rapists to steal money out of their wallets, murder their neighbors, and shit in their food. Is it theoretically possible such an event would effect opinion polls

Surely that poor dead horse should be spared the flogging by now… A small number of errors in a database in years that are not included in the calculation of Australia’s temperature trend means, frankly, bugger all. (Other than to remind me why The Australian can’t be taken seriously any more.)

Peter Hannam@peterhannam1.bsky.social

The Australian attacks the Bureau of Meteorology…for data a century or so old … what a relief that we don’t have to worry about climate change… (handy, too, to undermine the coming State of the Climate, and the mass of record temperatures in Australia and abroad)..
