Genuinely worth reading through, this. We've all had the argument with the guy who's read the Daily Mail and worked out that "they're lying again" isn't a winning response. This is why they're lying, however, can sometimes at least bring people with you. Not least because pointing to the Blackshirts

Yet the tremendous courage that people are displaying in the Twin Cities shows that their program to reduce humanity to ruthless self-interest is failing. People are taking greater risks out of love than the mercenaries would ever take for money. The human spirit is resilient.
I'd note a couple of things here. Driving a lot less dangerous than that was used to justify the execution of a young mother in the same city a week ago. And if the paramilitaries in that MRAP had gone through with their threat to ram the crowd, they'd have been dragged out.
I used to live square in the middle of Gorton. Loved it. The idea it could go to Reform because Labour has sabotaged its own best chance to win over internal politics is madness. If they say they don't want to do the job, listen to them! Have Labour stand down and leave it to those who will.
I’m a Manc. Anyone in the Gorton and Denton constituency, please do not vote Reform. Save our city from turning into a Minnesota because the closer Reform gets to Westminster, the closer we get to having our friends shot in the streets.

If you watch the video in full, this happened because he defended an unarmed woman from attack by a militia, who would go on to execute him in the street by shooting him in the back while he was being held down. If you want a comparison between cowardice and courage, this is it.
This is courage. Looking a masked, government fascist dead in the eye, face to face, knowing full well that your life is on the line. If elected officials had 1/10th of Alex Pretti's resolve, we would have far fewer troubles.

There is no *credible* "soft left" road to recovery for Labour because it has driven out much of its left wing, they're gone. A move back to a po politics where Labour acted on its beliefs would be laughed out of town, because its leadership self evidently do not share those beliefs.
Say what you like about the tenets of Luke Akehurst, Dude, at least it's an ethos.
Just think how much more productive they could be in an industry making something we profoundly hope is never used. All that talent pissed away to build nothing of value.
Socialists need recognise that you're hard pressed to find better examples of world leading productive British industry which employs high wage high skill workers; than you find in defence. Liberals/centrists need to recognise the need for far more spending today. Not tomorrow.

So do I. Mostly of the "You built this, you bastard" variety. The first thing he should do is apologise to his niece, the second is to her wife, and the third is resign. I'd also say that having built this, he should keep our community out of his mouth except for those apologies.

Oh look. A tipping point. At this point, it's increasingly unavoidable that if you're going to the polls to stop Reform, labour are now no longer the best way to do that. Which makes the long standing need to vote for the lesser evil obsolete. And hey, for once, you don't have to vote for evil.

This is the most ruthless act of union busting in the history of the UK games industry. Yesterday, @rockstargames.com unfairly fired over 30 employees for union activity. We won't back down, and we're not scared - we will fight for every member to be reinstated.
BREAKING: Yesterday Grand Theft Auto VI maker Rockstar Games fired dozens of people, all of whom were involved in union efforts. A British union calls it "blatant and ruthless" union-busting. Take-Two Interactive says it was due to misconduct. Here's the scoop: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Call them cunts and tell them they get nothing. Spit in their stupid faces. Put extra Asians in the Christmas adverts and explicitly say you're doing it to fuck them off. Tell them *no* for once Jesus actual Christ lads. Not "this is unworkable" or "this is expensive". Just no.

It's not confused and it's not hapless. They got what they wanted and got the center-right to establish it as the new common m normal. Then, consistent with the behaviour of all right wing racists for the last century, they refused to take yes for an answer and upped their demands.
More confusion from the hapless Philp/Lam team “It is now our formal announced policy to restrict benefits to anyone who is not a British citizen. That is policy.". Obviously, that would mean tearing up the Conservatives' own Brexit deal with the EU. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...
And if you don't believe the Tories could stoop so low, look at what their MPs and ex MPs are coming out with, now the restraints are off. Listen to Michael Gove, for example, Lee Anderson, or Katie Lam. The "decent Tories" were more than happy to share a party with them.
Whenever I hear about the decline in standards from the old days of Decent Conservatism this is the first image that comes to mind. The man who drew this was given an OBE.

Fair enough. If they want to join us in doing so, then welcome. They're welcome to compromise their values in doing so - or more likely not, if they actually oppose fascism already. All you're asking for is that I compromise mine for their convenience.
Folks demanding political / ideological purity fail to see that this is no longer a movement belonging to the left / liberals. This is an opposition against fascism. By definition it must be big tent. Failure to grasp this: see divided oppositions in Eastern Europe as your failed examples.
