Just my opinion, but there should be a constitutional remedy for when the President of the United States addresses the nation and everything he says is either pure lunacy, an unhinged claim or a blatant fabrication. Just like the 25th amendment, but real.

With US markets are relatively unscathed, while Asian markets are badly hit and European growth forecasts drop close to zero, is US action against Iran to be interpreted as economic warfare?

The Donald forfeited the right, long ago, to have the UK as a close ally. On the Eastern side of the Atlantic we still believe in international law, and therefore won’t be drawn into his warped view of reality.

A special relationship is built on mutual love and respect. An abusive relationship is when your partner belittles you, gives nothing back, threatens you, keeps negatively comparing you to an ex partner and despite it all assumes you'll always be there for them. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

bbc.co.ukTrump belittles Starmer with 'no Churchill' jibe but can the special relationship recover? The remarks came amid a row over the refusal to permit the use of UK bases for the initial US-Israel strikes.

Casual, cavalier, gleeful - Hegseth’s description of US brutality in prosecuting an unjust war. Europe is absolutely right to distance itself from its former close ally which is now acting outside any legal framework.

The message is that we Brits don’t want a special relationship with an unethical coercive bully-boy.

Trump sounds mad. Proper nuts. But more than anything he sounds REALLY rattled as he rants and raves about Britain. If Starmer sticks to his guns I suspect this will all play in his favour.

No one can be watching this Davos speech and reach any conclusion but that the President of the United States is mentally disturbed and that something is deeply wrong with him. This is both embarrassing and extremely dangerous.

This is where we are. Read this joint statement by France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Denmark on Greenland: "Greenland belongs to its people. It is for Denmark and Greenland, and them only, to decide on matters concerning Denmark and Greenland."

If people admire you, they put your name on buildings. If you have to do it yourself, well… that’s different.

The House of Commons Library estimates that leaving the EU is costing the Treasury £90 billion a year in lost tax revenue, while other research suggests UK GDP is 6-8 per cent smaller than it would have been.

Keir Starmer needs to stand up for the BBC against Trump's outrageous $5bn lawsuit and protect licence fee payers from being hit in the pocket. Trump wants to interfere in our democracy and undermine our national broadcaster. We cannot let him.

Nigel Farage has spent £1m taking out adverts in the papers to distract from the Nathan Gill Russian bribe scandal. We can't let him buy himself out of this. We need an investigation into Russian influence in our politics.

Attempting to rig elections on his behalf. Turning the military on citizens. Toying with the idea of declaring martial law. Attacking political enemies and punishing those who speak out against his regime. If this were happening in another country, what would you call it?
