You’re gonna want to see what the BlueSky guys have decided is too intolerant for you to read.
Brazil going the way of South Korea. Basically around the world women are desperately trying to keep power out of the hands of incredibly stupid fascistic grifters while men keep trying to hand it over. Men are an embarrassing cringe gender.

Looking back i realize that i shouldn't post about cool games when i'm salty... This was definitely one of the highlights of the Next Fest and i think it will be a Day 1 purchase. I felt cheated (or.. robbed? 😏) but 1. i probably overreacted to being unlucky 2. it makes things more interesting
Next one: Probably Stolen. I see many loving this and i see why. It's fun and has a lot of cool ideas. I stopped playing when i was robbed several days in a row, bought an alert system.. and kept getting robbed. That was frustrating, but maybe i was just unlucky store.steampowered.com/app/4349200/...
Joining the Next Fest recommendation train. Funeral for the Sun is similar to the Golden Idol games. You find clues on names, relations etc. of different characters and events and use those to solve a big mystery. Very fascinating and i love the style. store.steampowered.com/app/4289350/...
Okay, it's #SteamNextFest and there's a lot of demos out there, so here's a quick thread of suggestions to try out, a lot of these I might not have played, they're just what's tickling my fancy. Let's start with Queen's Domain which is releasing on the 30th!
The demo for Tom the Postgirl took me only 15 minutes to finish, but showed me enough to put it on my wishlist. It has such a great aesthetic and music and is overall very bizarre and silly. store.steampowered.com/app/2707660/...
Your job in Don't Pick Up is to repair smartphones, don't ask questions and DON'T snoop around. I tried to be a good worker, so I haven't even scratched the surface of this game yet. Still i think i got a good impression of how interesting it is going to be. store.steampowered.com/app/5208890/...

What a beautiful and cute little game Danchi Days promises to be. The protagonist is a little girl that organizes a festival. Despite it's cuteness, the game has some heavy themes (like dementia) and i can definitely see it might making me tear up eventually... store.steampowered.com/app/3312850/...
Ace & Aro is a visual novel (?!) to learn about asexuality and aromanticism. In the demo (named Ace & Aro: One Night Early) you talk with one of the NPCs of the game. I definitely felt like i learned something. Not much interesting gameplay, but i recommend it. store.steampowered.com/app/4554030/...

The No Jumpscare Show is a game without jumpscares. or is it??? ;) nah, it is (maybe) It's short, cute (and scary(?)) and i enjoyed it. store.steampowered.com/app/5056910/... PS: as someone who keeps yapping about not liking jumpscares, i feel this game was made to make fun of me specifically.
Annalynn MD was not really for me, but i think that's because i also never really enjoyed Dr. Mario. But if you DO enjoy Dr. Mario... this game has really cute character designs, has some interesting mechanics (it's not just Dr. Mario) and good vibes. store.steampowered.com/app/3732670/...

Presentation and aesthetic of this game is great. A 2D survival horror zombie game with little puzzles and zombie killing. I quit playing when i was overwhelmed by zombies, didn't know what to do and died. But with more patience i think this is really cool. store.steampowered.com/app/3895110/...
Rain of Lead is Katana Zero with Yuri (oh and it's Dieselpunk not Cyberpunk). I saw some people claim it's not, but they are lying. Even the music reminds of Katana Zero. It definitely works and i recommend trying it. It's on my wishlist now. store.steampowered.com/app/5086270/...

Reshine is very cool. I enjoy these "restauration" videos from time to time and that's basically what you do here. Disassemble smth, clean it, reassemble. I would like an extra mode where the cleaning part is a bit more involved. But it's satisfying either way. store.steampowered.com/app/4668060/...

This is a Blue Prince-like. Which seems very ambitious, i guess it will just not be as big of a rabbit hole. But the little i played i think it works well. The addition of monsters that you can flee/fight feels unecessary and i'm glad it can be deactivated. store.steampowered.com/app/4617940/...

Talaka looks incredibly cool and plays very good. It's a roguelite inspired by Hades (with Brazilian mythical and historical figures) and seems pretty ambitious, with different weapons, skills etc. The hand drawn art & animations are amazing! store.steampowered.com/app/5071840/...
Curse of Resthaven is very interesting. A mixture of adventure, town management and apparently roguelite (i haven't gotten to that part yet). I first thought this would feel messy, but i think i like it. I usually don't finish demos but i might do that here. store.steampowered.com/app/4661280/...

I already hate when devs are getting super obedient about player feedback, promising to just wanting to make a game the players want. A video game being "personalized exactly to my preferences" just sounds incredibly boring and bad.
maybe i'm old fashion but the coolest thing about video games is being taken to new worlds that i hadn't thought up and experiencing something exciting that the artists behind the game want to show me

Exactly. I am tired of seeing the “I always knew”/“their work was actually bad” takes whenever allegations emerge. Sometimes—often, actually!—bad people find their way into good spaces and make good things. And you’re not better than the folks who were taken advantage of for “always knowing”
"I already didn't like him I just couldn't find a reason until n-" Shut the fuck up shut the fuck up shut the fuck up shut the fuck up shut the fuck up shut the fuck up shut the fuck up

I always thought how silly all the Ed Sheeran hate was. Like just let a boring guy be successful, it's fine. Feeling very stupid now. I will try to be better and be more hateful towards boring and (formerly) popular musicians.
All of Ed Sheeran’s opening acts and his touring band have dropped out of the remaining dates of his ‘Loop’ tour in solidarity with Palestine and Macklemore.

That was kind of my thought after Ikumi Nakamura's latest tweet(s)... Her studio build up so much good will and had a really wholesome vibe and all. And then one day their bored CEO was like "i'll tweet at Elon Musk and make a cute comic and beg him to help us!" Sure, people will love that!!
I think I'm at a point where I'm not actually sure what a CEO does anymore, like, day-to-day. It kinda seems like they just make dumb decisions and then fuck around all day.
