maybe i'm old fashion but the coolest thing about video games is being taken to new worlds that i hadn't thought up and experiencing something exciting that the artists behind the game want to show me

100%. this is the sort of person who'd move their family to Russia to get away from drag story time. This is the mentality of execs who try to dead diversity in media despite the success of diverse projects. These ppl dont want to connect to anyone or encounter anyone different from them

People are mocking this guy for thinking he can sell this game, but I *think* he means he's going to sell all his old games to fund his solipsistic fantasy, because he won't need anything that isn't designed entirely around him.

Yeah I thought the whole "video game industry becoming irrelevant" narrative coupled with the mention of eBay made this obvious. That's what eBay is for, selling off your old shit. Though the idea of someone making an AI slop game to sell for money and going to eBay of all places is pretty funny.

this man doesnt seem to understand what the fuck a videogame is for or the very basis of entertainment its like hes incapable of considering someone isnt completley self obsessed and wants everything to be about them has he even played a videogame before

Wasn't he one of the guys who strongly advised (i.e. shilled) to buy real estate in the metaverse now "so your home can be next to the important stores and celebrities' homes"? I might confuse him but i wouldn't rule it out.

The first step after "Hello computer" will take him & his LLM months if not years to even get working, nevermind working correctly and cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars. These people.

No no see its totally happening now! This time it's for real! The LLMs definitely aren't grabbing random bits of code and prefab game engine assets that look kinda close until someone takes a detailed look then the house of cards collapses like every time before this! This time it's the real deal!

I love that he says "sell my games on ebay," like the computer will just make those things be sold and provide him with money somehow. Like there are people somewhere on the planet who'd actually be willing to pay him for this drivel.

I think he meant that he'd be selling his old game library, since he no longer needs to play anything not directed by himself.

Like, bro, that’s just real life. You can go out there and spend time with your friends in bars and work to achieve your dreams in real life. In games I want to fight zombies and take on multiple assassination based secret societies.

It’s somewhat funnier if you know that this guy was musk’s head of product for twitter until just recently, not just any sad tech guy but a specific sad tech guy

You're telling me unbelievably depressingly morbid navel-gazy narcissisist scenario porn *isn't* everyone's ideal form of escapism? I just don't believe you

somehow the funniest bit of this is the implication that this dude has video games to sell in this world where games are an artless bespoke service made to order, and also that he trusts a GPT to handle private sales of his own property

So while this is immensely sad, the fact he didn't specify a GTA makes me read this as him building all this in the first one. So in my head, he's viewing this fantasy life entirely top-down, and that makes it much funnier

Oh no, egad, I didn’t retain much after the first bit where they say they wanna shoot up their hometown, but that was probably enough. Did they realize what they revealed? So many yikes.

listen, all creatives draw on their own life experiences, but those of us who are actually creative can like. you know. build on it and branch out to make it something new and interesting to other people.

There is a whole lot of "do the creative part for me" in his dream. Which is crazy. The creative part /is/ the part humans enjoy. I want the machines to do all the grunt work for me, instead.

Wow, what a cool prompt he coolly thought of! Would be great to see the fully playable GTA-like output this surely generated. Did he post any of that? No? Only explanation I can think of is he’s too busy playing the game he was totally able to create in five minutes

Hello computer. Please create a business model for a company like Rockstar to spend a decade and a billion dollars developing a video game that no one will buy because we can all just have our chatbots make us our own bespoke version of their game without having to buy it from them.

"Computer, when I say BRING IT IN, GUYS!! replace the birthday party I am currently at with every character from every game, comic, cartoon, TV show, movie, and book reality coming in with everything for a HUGE party. Make my family and friends who are also at my current party happy about this too"

“Make this video game about me literally, but better” has got to be one of the worst misunderstandings of why we play video games I’ve seen in a while

“Computer, make me into Merricat Blackwood from the classic Shirley Jackson novel ‘Don’t Be Merricat Blackwood, What Are You, Crazy?’ But Uncle Julian should be an anime waifu.”

I never understood this mindset. Whenever I play games, even games where I could potentially make myself in their character creators, I always prefer to play as… y’know, a character. Like, I already live as myself, I can definitely say I’m not that compelling a protagonist. This is that but x 100

A lot of people want personalized power fantasies. More "normal" people just identify with protagonists or something, wishing they were them or try to learn from them... 😄

I don't understand if this guy thinks the end-all-beat-all of AI is having it customize games for you personally how the fuck is he selling his version. Why are these folks missing a cylinder.

I can't move past the first bit. My town isn't the kind of place where GTA things plausibly happen so having GTA things happen in a recreation of it would immediately break immersion. The settings of things are rooted in real world associations.

Nowhere does GTA stuff happen. There's only ever been the one bank robbery in California with body armor /and/ automatic weapons. There's only been the one hijacking in the US where the guy parachuted away with the money. It's not plausible *anywhere*, what's the murder rate of Cabot Cove?

Imagine being that unimaginative you need a computer to make your half baked idea. Plus he thinks he can go after rock star games? I’m pretty certain they would sue him into oblivion for copyright . Ai simpers are the worst. Some of the best things are made by humans by humans .

Maybe I'm not a very interesting person, but if we could just do this in video games I'd be bored as hell. The whole point is I want to play and experience life as someone else... what's the point of playing, this just sounds like life but with a fancy mansion.. 💀💀

Personally, I'm stuck on "use google earth to recreate my town in pixel perfect detail" Have you ever even used Google Earth? It's impressive. But at that level, your town's gonna look more like some lumpy shroomed out trip than any kind of "pixel perfect" from your FPS view.

It's funny cause there is allready a game that uses Google earth to recreate your home town. It's flight simulator. You end up with these weird artifacted basic house like shapes with textures that go over the edge and shit.

“Make it playable online so all my friends can join” As if they wouldn’t be doing the same thing in his sad little scenario, he’d never afford them the same courtesy

Why would your friends come and play *your* dreams, and not theirs. How would you even have friends

If you have a healthy and mutually respectful dynamic, you might be interested in seeing each other's dreams and dream mansions etc. The way you might be interested in seeing how someone's place looks like. But I don't think person has that.

why does this guy think that people would buy his personal fantasy game when he has established a setting where anyone can just get their own version of that anyway?

Hey! Speak for yourself - personally I think a game based on the life of a frustrated and perpetually disappointed academic would be a banger!

the last thing I want to be is me, honestly, it's like sitting down and reading a book about being yourself, in what world

I think one of the cool things about art as a whole is experiencing the world through someone else's eyes! It's mundane to the author of the experience (as a 1:1 transcription of life) but to an outsider, it's an entirely different way to experience the world! :)

Techbros just see games as nothing more than technology, and see anyone not wanting to play incrementally "more awesome" tech the same as their aunt, who thought Quake will make you shoot up schools. Yes, there's a great overlap with the "all art should be apolitical" guys.

There is a bit of an appeal though, in that. You get to see what exactly someone's dreams are and how they live those. Although with that particular individual that would probably be a hybrid of 1930s Germany, Little Saint Jones and latest Uwe Boll movie.

computer pweeease give me a mansion 🥺 🥺 🥺 PWEEEASE make all my hopes and dreams come twue computer 🥺🥺 i can't do it by myself computer pweeeease do it for me 🥺🥺🥺🥺 i sold my spine to buy flubbercoin computer pweeease i cant do it pweease 🥺🥺🥺 pweeease make my wife come back computer 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Like even putting aside the absurdity of the desire to have a "personalized" GTA and assuming gamers want that, the real money would be in selling *everyone* a personalized copy of GTA based on *them,* which is presumably something Rockstar would be doing, not this jerkoff.

I love when tech guys say stuff like this as if any AI program can even remotely do something similar. "Oh you think AI is stupid? Well how about this thing I just made up that it can't do."

why would his friends play a game where every mission is about his hopes and dreams when they are also incredible narcassists and can make their own games about their own hopes and dreams?

Fascinated by the idea that you’ve created a perfect holodeck style machine but you still need to sell your old video games AND people are going to want to buy them. Like even in your fantasy you’re kind of a weirdo and loser?

"when you're done sell all my games..." but who's going to want to buy second hand copies of everyone's bespoke masturbatory self insert fantasy games?

Ok but who the fuck would want to buy a game about some random guy's fantasies, they know nothing about? Especially in this theoretical future where anybody could just "make" one themselves

But if every game is hyper personalized, why would I buy his instead of make my own? (Overlooking the fact that this isn't even possible lol)

wait, so his ideal game, and possibly day, starts and ends at some sort of eternal superbad sims party going on in his minecraft dream house, which he leaves to steal a Lamborghini to shoot up the high school and/or applebees? did I get that right?

The saddest part of that is “so my friends can join”… Does this sound like a man who would join his friends in their games, where it’s their hometown and their hopes and dreams feeding the quests? What kind of friendship is that?

You know that's Xitter's former head of product, right? bsky.app/profile/chro...

Chrononaut@chrononaut.bsky.social

BTW I told him he's a moron and explained why and he blocked me This is a "free speech" guy who until recently was the head of product of the "free speech" app, where hate speech, incitement to violence and death threats flow freely Yet a mild insult and criticism was too much for his echo chamber

Everyone’s ragging on this but if it’s GTA, you can probably just shoot him repeatedly with an increasingly powerful array of weapons and that could be pretty funny

I appreciate I have more vivid dreams than a lot of people but They do know if they want a story about themselves doing shit based on what's in their head, they can go to sleep, right?

I think the saddest part is he's like "make every mission about my hopes and dreams" but also wants it to be multiplayer so "his friends" can play.

Why would your friends want to play with you? They can build their own fantasies to their perfect specifications. This sounds so terribly lonely.

This is like that Justice League episode where a time traveler makes himself the ruler of Earth, but still sleeps in a prison. Guy can't even imagine being wealthy in a big pond.

That guy’s friends are going to be so excited to join online to do a mission about helping him construct a gooncave

I'm sure it is for some people but I think there's a wide range of pathetic impulses such a thing could satisfies. Such as: - my life deserves to be made into a game - sure would love to kill my neighbour - hey look guys I "made" a game and many more!

to be fair I also want to live in the Matrix. I hate every protagonist of every 90s movie whose plot was "OHHHH NOOOOOO I'M UPPER MIDDLE CLASS AND SUCCESSFUL IN THE 90'S I'M SO UNHAPPY I'M GOING FUCKING CRAZY I'M GOING TO KILL MYSELF AHHHHHHHHHHH"

Very specifically Ready Player One. An endless, pointless repetition of things they already like with nothing new since their youth. Because why not, nobody would make anything original in their space game because they want to be parrot people.

Just absolutely oblivious to the very message of those works which may as well be screaming "don't do this." They don't understand art at any level. Musk posted about how the strong men of Gondor protected the Shire to support anti immigration policies. He can't even understand Lord of the Rings

one of the most well known gaming creepypastas involves games being personalized. it's the concept of a company/entity watching your every move and deciding what you want based on that. most people find this to be horrifying in fact! (myself included)

As a D&D and other tabletop games person for 30 years I have grim news Only about half of humans are down for the unexpected and their friends dragging them along for the ride is the only way the game functions This also applies to GMs that can't stomach what their own dice say happens next

What are you actually experiencing when everything goes your way by design? There was a ST Voyager which the Doc programmed a perfect Cleaveresque family that he went home to and Torres changed it so that they were more realistic. He hated it of course but in the end experienced real emotions.

They'll claim that if you want excitement and adventure and challenges, it'll give you those, not automatic successes. Setting aside that it can't currently deliver surprises or plot twists - we could pretend it might. It's still lacking "what I want *today* may not be what I want *tomorrow.*"

I have struggled to properly articulate this, but it's like they don't understand that books, movies, games, etc., are more than a collection of sensory inputs. Communication is a relationship between a creator signifying something and a recipient interpreting the signified.

They're literally superficial people. They're the kind that cares more that people think their family is happy than working to make their family happy. The appearance matters more than the substance, and its clearer then ever when they talk of AI "art"

THIS. they dont understand what makes anything good. i fear they have never had a meaningful artistic experience, creative or interpretive. the idea of never encountering something new, being blindsided by a thing you never knew could excite sonething in you, is profoundly sad.

And hey, finding differing meanings with other people, and even with the artists themselves, is part of the fucking point!

This head saw the inside of many barber schools growing up, but the worst cut I ever had was when a novice pro did exactly what I asked for. I got a good look at it the next morning and paid her for another cut. I'll let the pros take care of things like that... and video games.

THIS I don’t want things to ever be specifically catered to me. I want to see the artists vision, I want to be challenged by the art I consume. And if you DO want all art to be for you specifically, I do not respect your opinions on the topic

Experiencing the vision of another consciousness is one of the greatest things about being human, I generally cannot fathom being like these freaks

People need to read about the Spaghetti Sauce Theory, where it basically ended up "people dont know what they want, especially if they've never experienced it"

I mean, I'm very sympathetic to wanting to personalize games. The control scheme is bonkers; lemme just mod in something that works for me better. I have arachnophobia; nix giant spiders. Alright. But the history of modding shows that some guys just want a boob size slider and, well.

Something they're completely missing about video gaming is the communal aspect of playing the same game. When RDR2 came out, people were talking - having actual conversations - about all the hidden stuff they were finding and helping each other progress. You won't have that in a tailor-made game.

Theyre describing my hell. Theyre juat fundamentally incapable of understanding why people might want to see the world through someone else's eyes. They have no wonder, no thought to anything but themselves and their concrete wall imaginations

Isn't this narcissistic focus going to create a market for first person high school shooter atrocity games? Thus killing the industry & making more efficiently ruthless killers with time on their hands. People want storified strategy challenges not lazy wish-fulfilment by talent-vortex parasites.

Also.. media allow us to share experiences as humans. If my version of (games, art, movies, fiction, news) ends up different from everyone else’s, we don’t have a common reference anymore. A computer tailoring this stuff is pointless and destructive.

The obsession with personalisation is so depressing. Whether it's film, books, music or games. A culture of individualism means no shared experience, no shared joy, no excited discussions. How can they look at the number of thriving communities and subcultures and think, nah, ditch all that.

Personalization is important only in so far as how you express yourself to the world. The world should never be personalized to you. All you're doing then is eating palatable sludge. It goes down easy but every bite is as forgettable as the last and by the end you won't even know what you ate.

I really wonder when they talk about how many data centers and how big AI will be...are they assuming people will actually do this kind of thing?

If you gave me a thousand years and all the AI compute in the world, I would not produce a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I am very, very happy to have played Expedition 33.

There's also the communal idea of everybody experiencing a story. Personalizing games like this makes everyone's experience both vastly different and less interesting, since it's basically the player just making the story happen the way they want instead of as the creator intended.

Fascists don't understand art. It's why they can't make it themselves. Good games are art. Art says something. It means something. They just want "press dopamine button".

This is a symptom of the Silicon Valley obsession with optimization and extending it to every aspect of life. From there comes the strange notion that creating perfect, bespoke gaming experiences is a goal it makes sense to pursue.

I saw someone saying this same thing about music, and I was just like...why?! Why would I want to keep listening to the only stuff I know I like over and over, when I could be discovering new things?

Literally sounds like the plot of a Black Mirror episode. Everything is exactly how you want it, and everyone's life is boring as FUUUUCK.

This is my favorite thread in a while. Y'all in here make me proud to be a human. Games, movies, books, all Art, is here to surprise us, to challenge us, to show us we're not alone here. Wanting to cut everyone but yourself out of the process should be considered anti-human. Like, unable to BE.

Well, an “Assassin’s Creed Origins / Odyssey” walking tour of various cities & their histories would be cool, but I didn’t know I wanted that until someone else created it. The average 25thC person trying to write in the Holodeck is boring. This will suck so much more with 21stC technology.

These guys want a worse version of the algorithm hell we live in. Slop made for lonely people. AI companions to watch it with. It's already hard to connect with people about media due to the custom algorithms that seem to follow us everywhere.

I don't wear clothes I designed myself because it takes a lot of time and is expensive. I don't play games I make myself because I don't know how. I enjoy stories I didn't write b/c I like understanding other people. Things like this would kill all the self exploration, learning & paying others.

Yes, I certainly don't think a game that I designed would be that interesting, but I think that with continued advances in AI we may see something along the lines of Star Trek's holodeck within the next 100 years or so, though probably without the ability to generate solid matter instantaneously...

I think there are some interesting things one could do with such technology, for me, the ability to attend historical performances such as the premiere of Rhapsody in Blue would be pretty amazing... Of course, I'm sure that it would be mostly used for pornographic fantasies.

You will NEVER attend the first performance if Rhapsody in Blue. The holodeck could make a simalacrum of it, but it is not it. You could today do some googling, arrange some travel, and see an actual performance of Rhapsody in Blue that is completely unique and will

It's a fair point, though I also could never attend the sinking of the titanic, or the trinity test, but watching movies containing those events is still rather exciting.

only ever be expirienced by you and the people in the room with you. And that memory you have of it? It will fade in time, become integrated into you, but any time you hear a bit of that song you'll remember "oh I took a bus to NYC and saw a college orchestra play this." Or you can plug yourself

they already made a game tailored exclusively to my preferences it was called Control and everything about it except like 2 of the shitty puzzles was made to satisfy specifically my tastes

I could enjoy video games personalized to my preferences. It's not going to happen like he's claiming. I'm not going to spend 5 hours filling out questionnaires so the AI-bot knows my preferences, and they won't figure them out by looking at my collection.

Even if it sticks to "games I play the most" - it can't tell which games I play less are "I don't like the gameplay here" and which are "I don't like the art style" and which are "I just don't have the time to sink into it." Or which ones I liked until I hit the casual misogyny and noped out.

Anyone who thinks "AI will know what you like/want and give it to you" has only ever played mainstream, popular games and has no idea of the amazing diversity of reasons people enjoy games.

If you don't experience art that you don't like, maybe even hate, as well as art that challenges you, or art you never expected in a million years you would like, your horizons are going to become narrowed and you won't know true passion. Comfortable lukewarm slop for the rest of your life.

If you don't want play within the parameters of the rules that a game provides, what the hell is the point of playing it rather than doing literally anything else??

I thought this would be a cool “every copy of Mario 64 is personalized” sort of deal for a second but no, he’s just creatively sterile. Has this guy ever vacationed? Has he seen the Grand Canyon? Enormous wooded mountains? Any beach? Been to a hospital in Philly for a week?

Because in the new AI world, thinking for yourself, working to gain skills and having new experiences is for losers. Here, let me vibe code this for you. /s

This person wants a world where everyone is a lobotomized 6 year old being given an infinite buffet of chicken nuggies and and candy. The people pushing for this shit never want to expand their horizons or challenge themselves. Frankly, they're just barely human.

Every meaningful piece of art is a poetic rupture of your inner vocabulary and mental library. Stuff you couldn't possibly ever think of by yourself, thus enriching you. Art is the answer to a question you didn't know you could ask.

I just started Tears of the Kingdom again, and I've gotten to where I'm randomly stumbling across piles of car parts that the devs left there to play with, and it's so delightful. I can almost feel the glee through the screen

So my edh pod is doing horror/halloween themed decks as a challenge and my wife wanted to emulate Silent Hill. Holy fu- the lore is so crazy! A deep and grim examination of the human condition. I'm mad at myself for not checking it out until now. Wtf. A.I. could never Silent a Hill like Konami

Yeah I could never think of Binding of Isaac and I've sunk over 1000 hours in it. I also couldn't think of Tetris 99, and thats just multiplayer battle Tetris.

I just finished rewatching the MCU in preparation for Doomsday, and I noticed that the movies that delighted me the most were the ones that showed me something totally new, stuff I'd never seen in a film before and could not have imagined. Games are similar: so much of the fun is in the surprises.

Yeah at what point are your tastes supposed to calcify, after which everything you get will be the same?

Yeah, same. There’s something unbeatable about stepping into a world with its own weird rules and letting the game surprise you.

Something infuriating about this kind of AI evangelist take is how just misunderstands creativity. I dont think people want games to mirror their taste. Thats a recipe for depression and boredom. Real novelty in media comes from the creators real experience and their taste being different from yours

A coworker once stated "I don't like fiction. I can just make up fake stuff in my own head, why would I want yours?" And I really was so gob smacked I could not explain to him why that was so wrong

I'm suddenly thinking of Faxanadu, an imperfect early sort of Metroidvania on the NES that saw the protagonist travel and adventure through a ruined kingdom built around and inside of a single giant tree. I hadn't seen anything like it and certainly couldn't have thought it on my own at the time.

like 10 years ago weren't they crowing about "Censorship!" and "not what the designers intended!"? Turns out that was a lie.

"Every piece of software will be customized to your preferences" I have this already, it's called "settings" and guys like this wipe them with every new update.

There is a friend I am positively obsessed with, and 90% of the reason is that she constantly pushes me out of my comfort zone in all kinds of wonderful ways. I am a creature of habit who has the worst time opening myself to new experiences, but she's broken that mold for me time and time again.

I love trying a random game and falling totally in love with something surprising and wonderful. Why would anyone want something spoon fed to them?

Oh cool, every bit of media I consume will be customized for me. Can't wait to speedrun my brain turning into useless sludge

encountering a wide variety of things that are not exactly your preference is required for even a basic understanding of what your preferences are it sounds like they're trying to control what you like by denying you exposure to other options

The best part about a physical newspaper is turning the page and something pulling you into a story you wouldn’t have read if it had been an app asking you what topics you care about. Dude. Let’s explore the world! Let’s look at LOTS of stuff. Surprise me!

This is terrible. This is so terrible and frightening. I wrote about it a few days back elsewhere. AI will be the death of us, because we lose connection to others, and the AI bros want that. The connection to others is the most valuable thing we have, and ofc they don't realize it - they have none

Imagine if instead of Itoi making Earthbound the fun, wacky, subversive RPG like he wanted. It had none of the funny ideas and was just a normal RPG about being the hero and Giygas wasn't an incomprehensible horror but a normal guy you beat up without prayer? That'd fucking suck.

I came stress enough how much this specific glaze of AI misses the point of art and humanity.

Have these people never had to look at something, anything, that they haven't experienced and thought "hm, I should try that" and enjoyed it? I don't want something just for me, my taste can be total shit. I want stuff other people have made and enjoy their different shit takes

I think they're also missing the point of "how do you develop preferences if you don't learn from anything?" We develop those preferences by the movies/books/art/fashion/etc we learn and come into contact with. The conversations we have with people. If you strip all that, what exactly do you have?

I know I’m not the only one who has noticed that people increasingly act like the social rules don’t apply to them, and I thought it was a response to Covid restrictions but now I wonder if it’s more about people thinking about life as their personal game in which they’re the only character of note.

“Imagine an ice cream store that always, and only, has your favorite flavor” But sometimes I wanna get something funky. Try someone else’s favorite flavor. Discover a new topping. Waffle cones. Maybe today I want a shake or a malt. Why limit things to what I think I want.

I can not imagine being so selfish and narcissistic as to want to never experience another persons story or perspective and need everything to cater to and reaffirm my worldview.

One of the ways I branched out with games was learning to let games tell me how they want to be played. I hated the FF7Remake demo because I was trying to play an action game, when it's a turn-based game played in real time. I have come to adore the full game because I stopped trying to fight it.

One of my recent hobbies has been sitting on Bandcamp’s front page and looking at the “just purchased” rotation, and clicking on stuff that seems interesting, and also reading the articles. I’ve found some cool music this way

"I like this book, but I wish it was tailored exactly for me." "I like this movie, but I want to change it so I like it more." "I like this band's music, but some of the lyrics should change." No. No. NO.

these people are fundamentally anti art. they dont want new experiences, they dont want to be challenged intellectually. they want Content.

Anyone else remember Fahrenheit 451? The media room that inserts the viewer into the show? But our reality is taking that even further. Just another step closer...

I love books and movies and art because I want to learn about others. I know about myself, I'm me all the time. I want to know what other people feel, and think, and how they live, and what else could be out there in the universe.

That sounds like more of a non-interactive medium thing. Something like "a satisfying challenge with responsive controls and many ways to approach it and it always feels like your skill when you win and your fault when you lose" would be the old-fashioned view.

What you dont want to live in space corridor 0279 bsky.app/profile/dant...

Dan Marshall@danthat.bsky.social

The video advertising Unity's ew AI-driven autocomplete game maker has 'Mari' who has a game idea they "always wanted to make" and that idea is "Space Corridor" and it looks like this, and that's the strongest argument I can think of for keeping game dev out of the pro-AI crowd's hands.

Art is a way to connect with people, to see the world from a different perspective. Even in the most cynical AAA game you can see the traces of humanity in between the sea of committee-determined choices. In a way, even a profit-driven corporate choice *is* still a choice determined by ...

... a different perspective. AI bro's despise the idea of connecting with people or seeing the world from a different perspective. They are convinced they are the smartest and bestest boy in any room and reject anything that risks even the slightest form of introsprection. They seek in ...

... interactive media nothing but a reflection of what they already are and the chance to accomplish the desires they already have. Which in this case is... *Checks original post* "Bigger House" apparently. God, even the gooner gamers at least have a form of human carnal desire.

Yeah, being challenged by new worlds and ideas that poke at my own beliefs is one of the great joys of engaging in art. It's a synthesis of ideas as your beliefs clash up against those of the creators/artists!

One of the best things about video games is when you think "eh it's not for me" then get totally sucked in and it becomes a part of you. Like it changes you. That's good!

Convinced these people just hate communities and shared experiences. They’ll get their personalised experiences and have a playground argument of “well my movie was better than yours because it had guns and bombs and cool stuff and the main character is me and I’m cool, claude says so”
