I've already seen some effort to bury this as "there's not a lot new here." As if, "What's one more rape victim?" is sound editorial judgment. Republicans kept the Benghazi story going for years on nothing new, but that didn't stop to press from covering every nothing burger they served up.
VICTORY: A federal court just put the chainsaws down at East Potomac Park
The plan was to turn a public park into a private tournament course for Trump & wealthy golfers. The trees stay while we fight it out in court
@democracydefendersfund.org & partners are on the case 👇- TN
BREAKING: We're asking the Office of Special Counsel & State Dept IG to investigate reports that diplomats' promotions hinge on how they vote & who they donate to
If true, that's a political loyalty test & the law bars it
@democracydefendersfund.org complaint 👇
There are only two explanations for the NYT's habit of presenting GOP operatives and donors as true swing voters:
1. Their reporters and editors are somehow incapable of running a simple Google searches, showing just a staggering level of journalistic incompetence
2. They want to the GOP to win
Seeing how little coverage that house report that added another rape accusation to Trump's tally got today, I looked back on just the front page Benghazi stories (there were many, many more inside over these months).
If still debating whether Donald Trump or Elon Musk willfully crippled Ukraine's missile defense, helping to slay innocent civilians, you are a rube. If the U.S. President had no role, then an oligarch governs national security. If not, the U.S. President serves Russia. Both answers are mortifying.
Here’s last night’s story about the rising prominence of extremist beliefs within the Republican Party, what it has to do with the upcoming elections, and why being 31 years old is one of the least cute ages you can possibly be. https://youtu.be/SnsBI4YxwIs
He claims here that other states have a law saying "somebody with the same name can't run." That is false. In no state is that the law, and it would be unconstitutional. You can have rules about how the ballot is disambiguated, you can't say nobody else with a similar name is allowed to run at all.
BASH: What's the crime?
AG TODD BLANCHE: What's the crime? Well it depends. There *could* be a crime. But the real wrong here is that Alaskans are gonna be confused.
BASH: The Alaskan Supreme Court ruled 4 months ago on this matter
EL-SAYED: I get that the President takes personal offense to my first name. He doesn't mind as much when it's the Saudis who are funding his son-in-law's private equity. Doesn't seem to mind as much when it's the Qataris who are giving them a $400 million private jet…
BRENNAN: The DOJ lawsuit demands the Alaska result not be certified if voters are confused. The confusion is defined as Sen. Sullivan not winning.
BLANCHE: That's not what it says
BRENNAN: I'm quoting from it. You are telling them not to certify it. What right does the federal govt have?
HR 1: The Damnatio Memoriae Act of 2029
Everything Donald Trump did as President was illegitimate and is null and void unless re-authorized by a majority of Congress. Oh SCOTUS complains? Well 3 of you are fake, and 2 are being impeached for corruption.
Today we (@propublica.org) published this map of every location with an active 287(g) agreement with ICE. (with the help of @tituslegaldesign.com's initial data analysis).

Correction to post 1, below. Alexandre Ramagem (the guy citing the Thiel-backed Polymarket) is no longer an official. Rather he is a former Brazilian spy chief who was sentenced to 16 years in prison for facilitating Jair Bolsonaro’s attempted coup in 2022. He fled to the US to avoid prison. 1/
How pathetic. This pro-Bolsonaro Brazilian official relied on the Thiel-backed prediction market (Polymarket) to suggest that Flavio Bolsonaro had won his debate against President Lulu (who just defeated Bolsonaro in the election.) Because Polymarjet is “real” info. 🙄 1/ x.com/delegadorama...
Just to underline the point that the Trump administration is anti-democracy, they are promoting the textbook exemplar for democratic backsliding to lead the UN.
Also, good time to point out that the US has not paid its UN dues, and now owes it more than $4 billion.

It's insane that the campaign against El-Sayed is basically that he has some secret relationship with the people that the president's family has a secret relationship with.
pundits are basically bored by the idea that these democratic candidates are not meaningfully behind with black voters and so are trying to conjure a controversy into existence
he’s also given multiple speeches on this and has really been trying with outreach both during the primary and now.
I think the media just really wants Black voters to abandon Dems. Talarico had more time to show this narrative was completely bunk but it really mirrors that coverage too
Ukraine losing access to Starshield raises serious concerns for our national security—like who controls critical capabilities the U.S. government has spent billions to procure & how decisions to restrict them are made. I'm demanding answers from the Department of Defense & SpaceX
Devastating local ecologies, consuming huge amounts of energy and water, providing very few jobs, and diverting capacity away from essential infrastructures, to produce nothing of social or economic value.
World eating technology that benefits so few.

“Palantir cofounder and CEO Alex Karp states ‘AI will undermine the influence of highly educated, often female voters and give it to working class men.
We have feminine energy running our cities and our courts,’ he complained.”
Hand wringing over if Democrats will be too focused on punishing criminals is pretty funny in light of Trump immediately pardoning all of the insurrectionists.
Three days after the August primary, election workers in one Washington county went to check for late mail-in ballots.
They expected no more than a few dozen. Instead, there were more than 500 — each a vote that wouldn’t count.
Hey Alaska, how does it feel to learn that Russia is going to be drilling for oil in your state in a $25 billion shady deal that appears to connect back to the Trumps?

Trump on data centers: "I say let them come in ... you should really be cool on data centers because you can make a fortune with the data centers" (Note the total silence of the crowd during this rant!)
But my favorite part is where he talks about Biden and Obama and then says "But they don't have nuclear weapons" because he lost track of where he was in the run-on sentence.
Of course technically, he was correct....
This is fucking lunacy. The only people getting robbed in D.C. restaurants were those prodigals patrons leaning too hard into the overpriced wine list.
Trump: "In Washington, all the restaurants were closing. People were being held up. They'd walk into a restaurant. Like Jesse James. 'Stand up! Give us all your money.' They're eating dinner at a fancy restaurant. All the restaurants were closing."
OBAMA: When I was president, all these Republicans are all deficits, deficits, debt, debt. You got to do something about it. And now—$40 trillion—Crickets. Somehow deficits only matter when a Democratic president is in office
Obama: "We've seen this movie before. I starred in it. I've got a long-form birth certification to prove it. This stuff didn't work on me. It's not going to work in Michigan on Abdul."
Give this a listen. It’s becoming par for the course. And Democratic candidates - especially female candidates - now get it from both sides of the political spectrum.
