The separatists in Alberta lost. Badly. Why we don't have to go around pretending otherwise -- and why those who keep trying to platform their voices and reason with their unreasonable grievances are doing more harm than good. #cdnpoli #abpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2026/10/26/o...

Susan Collins is falsely claiming she's won tariff exemptions, and media outlets are letting her get away with it. In fact, the admin is swapping some 50% tariffs for other 50% tariffs, as they did when they swapped out road salt. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

This is fucking lunacy. The only people getting robbed in D.C. restaurants were those prodigals patrons leaning too hard into the overpriced wine list.
Trump: "In Washington, all the restaurants were closing. People were being held up. They'd walk into a restaurant. Like Jesse James. 'Stand up! Give us all your money.' They're eating dinner at a fancy restaurant. All the restaurants were closing."

Treaty 6 was signed in 1876. Treaty 7 was signed in 1877. Treaty 8 was signed in 1899. Alberta joined confederation in 1905. This was treaty land before Alberta existed. This is still treaty land.
Alberta is restricting when the Treaty 6 and Métis Nation flags are flown at schools to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Pride flags will NEVER be allowed to fly. But you can fly the Vatican City flag. www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art...

It would be grand, then, if the Government of Canada would terminate any use of X/Twitter. And don't say, "Oh, we need it to get our messages out," because then you are "caught in a situation where we are reliant on one provider."
Mark Carney on what Elon Musk's throttling of Starlink means for Canada: "We do not want to be caught in a situation where we are reliant on one provider that puts Canadians at risk or compromises our sovereignty, our ability to express our values and live our values."

At least $50 billion for another pipeline. $82 billion in new military spending in 5 years. $300 billion in corporate welfare and mega incentives at an investment summit. But the cupboard is bare for Parks Canada.
2,671 PSAC members at Parks Canada received notice this week that their positions may be cut. These cuts put our environment, natural and cultural heritage, parks, and national historic sites at risk. psacunion.ca/psac-raises-...

Uhhh... pretty sure the US Constitution already failed at stopping exactly this from happening. (Tho the problem isn't 'extreme partisanship' so much as right-wing radicalization).
American Factions by James L. Huffman Explores how democracy is breeding political factions dividing America and suggests a restoration of the Constitution to bridge divides. 📚 https://cup.org/49w5kos #constitutionallaw

"Canada and Türkiye are bound together by shared values: human rights, individual liberties, democracy and the rule of law." Patently false on its face. Carney is whitewashing Erdoğan's record of repression and antidemocratic behaviour for the sake of a trade deal.
