In our house Italy first, then Poland. Lots of decentish songs, some good performances, Sweden pretty good fun but not the best. #eurovision

Really disappointing to see a Labour party used to persecute trans youth and pensioners alike. People say they want our vote and then just shit on us and wonder why many don't engage.

Really disappointing to see Bluesky so swiftly being used for angry broadcasting of short sentences just as X was. People say they want to engage with MPs then just scream at us and wonder why many don’t engage. 🧵

Hilariously, I learn that the YouTuber who is FURIOUS he got a copyright strike for reading and showing my entire book on his channel - and is insistent that all knowledge should be free - is now selling the video on his Patreon for more than four times the cost of the actual Kindle book!

Thank you for doing this @garwboy.bsky.social , articles like this seem to be cropping up depressingly often these days, is there some angle to this beyond luddites that I have missed?

Is doom scrolling really rotting our brains? The evidence is getting harder to ignore www.theguardian.com/... Many have asked for my take on this. So, is it another example of "I have concluded that my gut feelings are correct and I'm cherry picking 'evidence' to support it"? Yes, yes it is 1/21

The absolute classic. If you haven't paid Moose to draw you a version of this yet, go to his website and rectify the situation right now. Also, pssst, Christmas is coming!

Just thinking about dad jokes I’ve made which have annoyed/embarrassed my children. For example in a restaurant I ordered a coke. The waitress asked if I wanted a pint or a half. I said “Better make it a half, I’m driving”. No one laughed, apart from me.

The Shipping Forecast seems to have several birthdays, but on the 1st of January BBC Radio 4 will be spending the day celebrating 100 years of it. I've just had a lovely evening sitting underneath Cutty Sark for the recording of a special episode of Front Row about it, to be broadcast on Jan 1st.

And as this gains attention outside of scientific circles, as it surely will, @deevybee.bsky.social will undoubtedly face a great deal of harassment. Other fellows of the @royalsociety.bsky.social will have to decide whether she faces it alone or not.

1/ We're experiencing a huge influx of users, and with that, a predictable uptick in harmful content posted to the network. As a result, for some very high-severity policy areas like child safety, we recently made some short-term moderation choices to prioritize recall over precision.

Okay, so, blocking the person who created the starter pack removes you from the thing. So much more manageable to just block the 60 people who added me to starter packs than sitting here blocking everyone who follows.

You are up to date.
