I don't have a lot of hope for this miserably red state but if Blackburn begets Senator Hegseth, I'm going to explode.

NEW: The DOGE operative who gutted USAID -- firing thousands of employees and canceling lifesaving programs -- never actually signed the paperwork that's legally required for him to be employed by the agency.

Anyone else going as Pumpkin Hill from Sonic Adventure 2 for Halloween this year or just me? 🎃⛰️ The costume has a treasure hunting minigame where you can move Knuckles across the “level” and the radar necklace will blink as you get closer to the hidden emerald in the pockets 💎 I love Halloween!!

Trump and Republicans are restarting their voter fraud misinformation machine ahead of the midterms. When I checked, Republican candidates were implicated in voter fraud at up to 38,000x the public’s rate. If they were actually worried about voter fraud, they’d start with their own candidates.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Evergreen bit from Peter S. Beagle's "The Last Unicorn" commentary

Frame stitch of Kei and Yuri, looking determined as they confront a cornered Dr. Wattsman in his lab. From the anime feature Dirty Pair: Project Eden (ダーティペア劇場版)

I didn't mention at the time, but I got to watch through Gundam Unicorn a couple weeks back while visiting my partner. Her enthusiasm definitely buoyed it, and it's often quite visually impressive, but not terribly substantive. Sometimes thoughtful, sometimes silly, but ultimately mostly froth.

Frame stitch of the Master Technician as he prepares to make off with all of Manhattan by using the power of a newly constructed nuclear reactor. From Episode 23 (S2 E03) of Spider-Man (1967)

Frame stitch of New York at dusk, buildings cast in soft reds and pinks, as a silhouetted Spider-Man stands atop a building confidently surveying the apparent peace. From Episode 23 (S2 E03) of Spider-Man (1967)

Shout-outs to the work desk of Daisuke Suzuki as featured in the Making Of documentary for Panty and Stocking's Lingerie sequence, an incredible record of the 2000s. Special mention to the most notable outlier, a statue of Cham Fau in a funny paper hat.

I can't say I've been tapped into anything Bauza did but with each clip of him being posted in tribute right now it's like holy cow, that's just Bugs Bunny. He channeled that character like it was as easy as breathing. May he rest in peace.

Really great back to back moments from the sadly unfinished Super Dimension Century Orguss dub. Tom Fahn (Mister Agumon himself) just absolutely going for it.

Have been watching @thaliarchus.bsky.social stream Super Robot Wars W and was reminded of a favorite line from the Martian Successor Nadeisco dub that's twice as true now as it was then.

I knew Robert Woodhead was ahead of his time, but this is nuts.
