Also the US has never had free & fair elections for everyone, and if this is your first time worrying about it, welcome to the party! Fortunately lots of people have been here for decades and know what to do, if you are ready to listen!
correct states further down the path of autocracy than us have had those autocracies overthrown by sufficiently large voting numbers recently we can do it here too

"Yet little remains of this ingenuity. Some examples survive in glass and ivory, but exhibits are scarce; leather rots, wax deforms, glass breaks. Even when a dildo survives, it may be given another name..."

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

I'm conflicted because, yes, it's historical, but it's also a Nazi pilgrimage site. I'd like to see a placard there, explaining the historical significance of the area without rebuilding. The ruins should be enough. apnews.com/article/germ...
I got my public library card today, so it's official: I'm a civilian. Most of what I read are ebooks, so of course, I signed up for my public library's Libby account and I turned off searches for AI content, here's how you can, too: www.reddit.com/r/books/s/gA...

Getting into Miserere by @tfrohock.com. It's moving along quickly.
One of the things the documentary points out (& has always broken my heart) is that the men, who were incarcerated in concentration camps under the Nazis weren't freed at the end of the war. They were forced to complete their sentences in prison under Paragraph 175, which wasn't repealed until 1994.

Started Miserere by @tfrohock.com last night. I love discovering how a book changes over time, and how the author has taken what they've learned since first publishing it to improve the story. This is the fully revised and updated edition. And LOVE that cover! 💜
