Game devs: Be loud and proud about not using AI in your games, because if it's unclear to me before purchase I will look for an answer where I can find one, and there cannot possibly be a worse impression for a prospective player than pro-AI chuds "defending your honor" in the forums.

SUCH a lifelong dream to get to work on a new game set in the Myst universe. ♥️📖 Still hope we’ll get to see it through someday, but I’m thrilled we can share the trailer:

Over a year ago, we built a prototype for a new Myst Universe game meant for publisher eyes only. This project is NOT in active development, but we're proud of the work the team did, and wanted to share it with you all. Presenting: Project Anglerfish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvNGt02yZNc

Alright, I'm going to talk about one of my biggest reasons for unionizing on the Arena team. Forced relocation, aka "RTO" (Return to Office), "WFH protections" (Work From Home protections), or more recently "Ways of Working." Buckle in for a thread.

It's ok if your character creator isn't fully featured but can we please stop calling them "presets" when they're actually baseline templates with mutually exclusive options? I always blow past these thinking I'll just do my own thing without realizing that I've actually skipped a meaningful choice.

fuck sam altman forever for taking away the last places where we could engage in good faith: the creative arts, which should be a testament to human ingenuity. i am so mad that everything i read or listen to or admire is now tainted with doubt. do you understand? he is a thief of joy and i HATE HIM

"Why can't we have a calm discussion about AI?" Cuz the data centers are being built carelessly and at speed, polluting poor neighborhoods, cuz it's drinking my fucking aquifer, and cuz all my art and writing have been plagisrized while the worst assholes crow about my impending obsolescense...

In solidarity with today's ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA blackout, MinnMax is donating $1 to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota for every share of this Bluesky post for the next hour.

I bought and started playing Dispatch so fast after only seeing the trailer that I missed it had episodic timegating now I'm sitting here screaming crying throwing up on the episode select screen 😭

Seems right, though I don't know if I agree with the "Beautiful (not ugly)" prognosis. "Purple (not orange)" is on point though. (openpsychometrics.org/tests/charac... to contribute to the market research gathering)

Take the fictional characters quiz and post the first four you know: openpsychometrics.org/tests/charac... i... okay having a peek at the palantir does sound like something i'd do tbf

Regarding Hawthorn and it's use of genAI: I have decided to drop out. I was not convinced by the statement that was provided that genAI usage was off the table & even after raising concerns internally I wasn't reassured. Thank you all for speaking up. I wouldn't have pressed so hard if you hadn't. ❤️

46 hours in and this game continues to amaze me at how unpredictable each run will be. Extremely unprecedented for a puzzle-based mystery game to keep on giving like this.

To me, a Nazi salute means, "I want to murder your family." There can be no irony about it: It puts deep anger and hatred in my heart to see it done and I will never forgive anyone who justifies or minimizes it.

Just reset my WoW cvars to default for the first time in 15 years. Having all my settings suddenly jerk back to normal from many small adjustments over the years was like cracking my back over one of those public school desk chairs.

Not a fan of Al because we already get bamboozled by liars on the Internet. You want me to start trusting the black box labeled "trust me bro" for all my information needs? Wikipedia has works cited and it was treated with distrust for years because it seemed a little *too* convenient.

Got on twitter to see if there's any hubbub in the shitlands and I don't see a single tweet from today. Crazy that everyone simultaneously decided to give up posting all on the same day. Surely this wouldn't be censorship on the platform of free speech.

Flaunting my sense of moral superiority by gate checking my carryon while hiding the fact that I'm just happy to not have to stress about finding an overhead compartment.

I had to suffer short annoying reels of brainwormy ads working in the electronics department at a retail store. Customers usually wouldn't have to hear it repeat. Must we have these at airports as well? Sorry, but your Gloria/Lord of the Dance violin medley isn't as soothing after the twelfth loop.

Folks, FOLKS. This *includes* AI “art” making fun of Trump, or Elon, or whatever other political thing you agree with. It’s not “No fucking AI” unless it scores a point for my side. It’s “NO FUCKING AI.” Period.

Sean Connell@slcpgh.bsky.social

*sigh* Okay folks, once again: No fucking AI. No fucking excuses. No fucking exceptions.

Article: "People who bike to work have less chance of dying..." Oh hey that's me, hell yeah! Article: "Because they have less anxiety and depression." Ah...

The original sin of social media was hope, the idea that talking to people online might be fun, and you can’t recreate that with what we know now.
