When Simeon Brown & Chris Luxon talk about record spending on health, and reduced waiting lists for elective surgeries, they don’t say they’re sending billions of our dollars to multinational healthcare corporations. Meanwhile public hospitals are understaffed & kids miss out on cancer treatment 🤬

New Waitakere Hospital ICU sits empty due to lack of funding & staff; 80% of Govt’s new health spending growth went to private sector as the sectors’ profits doubled. Many of those private providers are offshore, some based in Cayman Islands h/t @bernardchickey.bsky.social

Do you, or does anyone in your circle, work? Do you care about people who work? Do you think working people deserve respect and to be able to live - economically and literally/physically? Then surely you'll want to vote for workers and work. Lucky for you the NZCTU has a handy guide.

🚨 VOTING IS NOW OPEN! Do you know who you're voting for? This election, don't just pay attention to what politicians say - watch what they do. And when you go to the polls, vote for parties that will protect working people and their whānau. #nzpol

This new electoral vídeo from Pedro Sánchez is quite something. Standing in front of Guernica defending the anti-war stance of his government, limiting military expenditure, denouncing the atrocity of Gaza. English subtitles.

Beating the joint forces of the Bolsinaros,Trump, Zuckerberg and surely Musk is quite the victory.

I assume footage exists of: Seymour at Tim Jago’s house; Costello at a big tobacco shindig; Shane at a mining company jolly etcetera etcetera. FFS, our #nzpol media pack is shallow and facile and it hurts all of us.

Not just talk…it’s deemed to be okay to take donations and policy proposals from that list. At least half of this term’s lawmaking was for the benefit of groups on that list.

#nzpol It's OK to talk to: * tobacco lobbyists * alcohol pushers * farming reps * climate deniers * gun nutters * business groups * sustainability greenwashers * believers in trickle down * vaccine cookers * outright racists But, somehow, it's not OK to talk to gangs? Sigh. 🙏

Elon Musk boosted the lie that James Talarico stayed at a mental hospital. Meta suspended No Kings’ Instagram account during nationwide actions. Staff at the Ellison-owned CBS News were reportedly told to tie Abdul El-Sayed to the Muslim Brotherhood and 9/11. Democracy dies in billionaire hands.

You know how folks reckon publicly delivered projects are never on time or under budget? Westgate Te Waiarohia station for NW Busway was finished on time and $19m under budget, and that funding is now being put towards improving Newton off ramp for buses ahead of schedule. CC: TPU & politicians

All Labour need to do to steam-roll the elections is promise to make saving the public health system their #1 priority, and focus on it relentlessly & obsessively. Instead, they choose to project themselves as a cuddlier version of what we have now. FFS!😒 #PartyVoteGreen #OneTermGovernment #nzpol

The youth journalists are doing amazing mahi. This video is off of Instagram. It's really bloody awful how this man thinks life is only a 'pay to play' way. Sickening. Show this to your young voters. 9 days left to enrol! #NzPol #NzElection2026

WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you really should watch and share this excellent news story. Ford LIES that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data. Remember and share this as Ford tears out Toronto bike-lanes.

toronto.citynews.caAnnex businesses tell Ford to back off Bloor bike lanesStores in the Annex say the Bloor bike lanes have been a big boost to business. As Michelle Mackey reports, the neighborhood's BIA wants the province to back off its new bill that could see the lanes removed.
