Millions of copyrighted songs were fed to AI music generators - now there's proof
Suno and rivals are being sued for $150k per song. A sum that would bankrupt these companies and set an important precedent.
Having another one of those days where my emotions are rapidly floundering between happy and massively depressed. Can't even land on one long enough to feel it, so I'm just kind of... existing.
These outlanders won't be happy until slavery is outlawed. I don't know what I'd do without slaves. Hire some shiftless, untrustworthy, evil-smelling pauper? It's our right to have slaves, by law and custom, and it's none of their damn business.
When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute womenβs work to hallucinated male scholars.
Game File: Microsoft already planned to shut down or split with Ninja Theory when Senua was announced.

"Game dev is one of those jobs you only do when you really want to. It's not going to make your parents proud, you're unlikely to get rich in an industry that lays off people for making superhits, and its a demanding & confrontative job. Why would you let a machine do the thing you're here to do?"
I spent the last few months talking to over 30 game developers about generative AI. It began as a sort of interview survey but became a pretty comprehensive collection of arguments against the technology altogether.

using AI at any stage of game development is loser shit but the excuse of "oh we only used it during the concept art stage" is always insane to me. concept art is literally the fun part. you asked the robot to do the fun part for you. do you also need the robot to eat dessert for you
after reading a bit about the state of college in the era of LLMs my honest reaction is what's even the point of college anymore. this isn't me saying LLMs are epic and replacing the need for college. but it sounds like it's just a place where you go to and play pretend now.
Finally got around to watching Markiplier's Iron Lung and it was SO GOOD! My one complaint is that it didn't have nearly enough shirtless Markiplier. π But seriously, the lore and pacing and the entity were all incredibly well done. Reminded me of Underwater but better and worse in different ways.
each nation has sent its strongest champion. in one side theres anubis the guardian of the afterlife. on the other theres obelisk. only time can tell which one of them will come out victorious
The actual reason you couldn't make the Office today is that season 1 is really bad and got poor ratings yet they gave it a chance to evolve and find its audience, and shows nowadays aren't given that chance.
The villain of βSPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAYβΒ is described as βa powerful villain no one can even see.β

me on the internet: i will move heaven and earth so i'll never have to see an ad and if you somehow manage to sneak one in anyway i will make a point of never buying your product in my life
me at the cinema: hurry up, we're missing the best part: the ads!
Tony Bourdain taught us all that a place is full of good food, good people, and good experiences despite very shitty politics and I think itβs kind of classically American to have thought we were excluded from that Venn diagram
