This morning, I was notified of another death in ICE custody. This is the 53th death on ICE’s watch during Trump’s second term. We must continue to fight for accountability for everyone who has lost a loved one. And it’s time to end the use of all for-profit detention centers.

On July 7, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by ICE in Houston while driving to work. He wasn't under investigation or a suspect—he was a father, worker, and community member. We demand accountability, the release of those detained with him, and an end to ICE collaboration.
