Former Mass Effect writer working at Teyon Games. Less frequently: short stories, novels, TTRPGs, comics, TV. Random jokester, distractible bother, compensates for morbid streak. Some political posts.

Oh, sure, they used to be mathematicians and scientists back in the day, but their most RECENT achievement was so long ago that no one knows... uh... (checks notes) Omar M. Yaghi, who won the Nobel for Chemistry in (flips through papers hurriedly) 2025.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
Reposting for the algo -- adding this as a reply to the previous thread is nice and all, but it's unlikely people will see it without a little boost. The fun in-universe propaganda posters are in a reply under this reply.
Hmm. I don't know if other peeps can't see it either, but my Bluesky isn't previewing the cover. Jake Clark did the art here. I like it better than "Urban Fantasy Heroine with Katana and Tramp Stamp," because while I love books like that to pieces, I wanted something to signal how CB is different.
Reposting for visibility -- me adding replies to the previous thread doesn't show up on the ol' algo as much.
The above post links to the website with dev diaries and stuff, which is awesome. But if you just want the trailer mainlined into your eyeballs, that would be here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hzom...
The most immediate "Hey, if you liked BioWare games, then you'll dig this..." is the RPG project I've been on since this summer, Hunter: The Reckoning -- Deathwish. Its biggest influence is obviously Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, but BioWare hallmarks are there too. teyon.com/games/hunter...

In the cyberpunk future, a human weapon metes out justice... but is bushido enough to keep him from slipping into cyberpsychosis? "This Thing of Darkness" offers a twist on noir heroes in "High Class Muscle." 10 stories of gumshoes and thugs! tinyurl.com/yb479prz
Okay, I think that's all for now. For Jennifer, she's on Diablo V right now as Narrative Director. She did work at Disruptor Beam (Game of Thrones: Ascent) and Pixelberry. At PB she did a ton of books for Choices -- you can find which ones via her LinkedIn here: www.linkedin.com/in/jenniferb...
You’ve heard of Arthur’s sword Excalibur, but who would die just for his spear? My story “The Torturer of Camelot” is available in “Keen Edge of Valor,” an anthology of 14 fantasy stories with plots all involving relics of legend. www.amazon.com/Keen-Edge-Va...
Can a single paladin change the course of the American Civil War? Find out in "High Water Mark," my story in the "Paladins of Valor" anthology, 14 tales of all eras and oaths! (For y'all who read Michael Shaara's "The Killer Angels" and wondered where the angels were.) www.amazon.com/dp/B0CY9T4DHG/
While at Seasun, I ran a Kickstarter to launch a comic I wrote. The afterlife is collapsing, and it's up to a genius demigoddess, a forgotten Trojan War hero, a silent clay golem, and a snarky Zulu fairy to set it right. "Mythkillers" is 6 issues and was a lot of fun. www.amazon.com/Mythkillers-...
I also sold some short stories while working in vidya games. If you could use a laugh, "Unidentified Funny Objects 8" features superheroes fighting bureaucracy, cancer, aliens and each other in “The 10:40 Appointment at the NYC Department of Superhero Registration!” www.amazon.com/Unidentified...
The other big game that actually shipped and I had a hand in since 2013 was Airship Syndicate's "Wayfinder." The world is overrun by Chaos, and you're an immortal echo of a fallen hero defending the last remaining city. It's got 3-player team-up ARPG goodness. store.steampowered.com/app/1171690/...
As you may surmise, I wrote for a lot of games that never shipped, because Welcome to the Video Game Industry, Kid. You can find the list on my website at www.christopherhepler.com/writing-tour, but since most people are here for "Hey, you got any more cool writing, Mr. Writer?" let's continue...
The project that's closest to my heart is my indie-published novel, "Civil Blood," AKA "Law and Order meets Shadowrun." It's about the class-action vampire-rights trial to determine who gets to be called human, as told by the people assigned to kill the plaintiff. www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZPYVY...

There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, “we will survive” Let’s do that some more
Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?
