I didn't realize the Taiwan-China issue was all based on chips.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Look, if we had smart presidents, the Taiwan problem with China wouldn't exist. Nobody would care. They stole our chip business. All of it. 100 percent."

He needs to define the "all" in "all agreed."

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Ferguson: "We are restoring social trust to make sure that when Americans go to work and pay their taxes, they can truly believe and know that the taxes are gonna go to help the people that we all agreed we're going to help." (War is peace, freedom is slavery, etc)

"Alito and Thomas would have." SHOCKED! I'M SHOCKED, I TELL YOU!

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

Great news! The Trump admin went to the Supreme Court looking for permission to forcibly detransition inmates who have been on hormones for decades, deliberately denying them medical care that their doctors prescribed. Thankfully, the Court refused to grant the request. Alito and Thomas would have.

That sounds fair.

Trump on Camp Lejeune water contamination claims: "If we win the House and Senate, I am directing the Department of Justice to settle all remaining legitimate claims as soon as possible ... if we don't win, there's no money."

Stupid questions asked by a disingenuous scammer often leave people unable to answer.

Dr Oz claims Nick Shirley "has a unique ability to walk into a room and ask piercing questions undaunted by people's inability to answer"

"The violent environmentalist movement" is quite a phrase.

Mike Waltz alleges that "the communist party in Cuba has been working with antifa and a number of other progressive leftist groups to sow chaos in our inner cities ... they're doing it with the violent environmentalist movement and pro-Palestinian movement"

The Kremlin is counting the Trump administration’s latest turn against Ukrainian President Zelensky as a major triumph and, coupled with political upheaval in Europe, a sign that Western support for Ukraine is finally crumbling.

Apparently there's an issue with one of his mechanical leg braces.

Okay what's up with the thigh tapping? (I know there are more important things. I'm not distracted. I can wonder many things at once. I am medically curious.)

Phew. Glad he cleared that up.

Trump: "I do not want to lose as your representative $90 billion for the privilege of allowing Canada to have a healthcare system and other things that they shouldn't be having"

What, exactly, are "transgender orders?"

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Sen. Roger Marshall: "This is the guy that when Joe Biden issues his transgender orders, there's Adam Hamilton cheering that on"

Again with the mental institutions. Are the inmates going to be released and sent to America?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "I watched an interview of a young woman the other day from Ukraine. And she said, 'President Zelenskyy has destroyed our country. President Zelenskyy has taken our men away from us. Our men have no legs, no arms. Our men in many cases in mental institutions or they're dead.'"

Reasonable aspirations.

FOX NEWS: The president's approval rating is at a historic low. Do you think that could be a drag on the party? TIM SCOTT: The president's legacy is on the midterm ballot. I want to make sure the next generation can grow up like I did -- maybe in poverty

AT SOME POINT????? Maybe there should be some news coverage about this.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

CNBC: "If you just take a step back, this is not a good print for the Fed. At a in a time when we were hoping that inflation on a monthly sequential basis was looking closer to to 2 to 2.5%, we're getting something above that...at some point, higher inflation is gonna start eating into real incomes"

Jon Ossoff is calling opponents Nazis the wrong way. - David Brooks @nytpitchbot.bsky.social

driftglass@driftglass.bsky.social

"Jon Ossoff, my advice to him is, if you start calling your political opponents Nazis, maybe it's time to shut up. That's just not what we do here in this country." -- David Brooks, this evening. Remember, Brooks still gets very handsomely rewarded by the fossilized media for saying shit like this

The Onion@theonion.com

“No one should be surprised that all the scrutiny from the mainstream press is focused squarely on the spotted hyena with its jaws dug into the right buttock of the president and not on our historically prosperous economy.” — Beni Rae Harmony, assistant press secretary

And you know what sentient people would say if it happened today? "This guy is nuts!"

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Can you imagine if your president was standing here 25 years ago saying, 'We will stop men from participating in women's sports!' They'd say, 'This guy is nuts!' Or 'we will stop the transgender mutilization!' You know what that is? *makes cutting motion*"

That's fine. He's considered us the enemy anyway.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "The White House considers anyone that uses the term, 'Artificial Intelligence,' as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, 'Super Intelligence,' THE ENEMY! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

Sadly, he's still a senator.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Would anybody like the hear The Snake? We gotta whip it out. This is in honor of Springfield, Ohio, a quaint little town of 32,000 where they took in 35,000 and put them into Springfield. It didn't work out too well and they're being removed." The crowd starts chanting "De-port! De-port!"

"Unless the offenders are my supporters. in which case we'll pardon then, give them huge payouts, or both."

Actually, I think it's *very* clear.
