You ever get the urge to just put an entire army on display and take photos for the sake of it? Nah, me neither. #Wargaming / #Hobbying / #MiniaturePainting / #GrimdarkFuture / #DAOUnion / #EscalationLeague / #OnePageRules / #Warhammer

Remember the viral Darth Vader public comment over Flock? Well, San Diego is actually coming closer to cancelling their $2M Flock contract. This comes after a councilmember flipped his support of Flock, and in response, Anthony Ralphs, the man behind the Darth Vader suit, bought him flowers.

I feel like when people talk about the superiority of man made art over AI slop they tend to focus too much on the mystic of it and not enough on the fact that for a lot of artists the process is made up of a long series of complex and meaningful deecisions that a robot sucks at making.

Talking about how historical inspirations for fictional settings 🧵 I was shared an artist's post about a design they created claiming to be inspired by a specific bit of history, that ended up not at all showing through in the final picture. This is not uncommon.

$$ FYI: Those acne stickers you can get are hydrocolloid material, and you can get whole ROLLS that you can cut out to whatever size/shape you want. Many of them are FSA/HSA compliant if you've got that. I just got a roll with tea tree oil. And I put my own stickers on them so they're still cute.

Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume? Any government worker: Yeah most of our records for that time period were lost or destroyed in the move to the new building.

Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume? Museum curator: Not only am I grant funded in the humanities, I’m also aware that, while chronological time is an agreed-upon reality, how we interpret history is largely a matter of how we create the narrative around the subject at hand.

I got as much in as I could: Tiny feet, thicc thighs, narrow waist, fat fists, teeth, tongue, conical studs, a Milinery Industrial Complex hat. There's also some hazard tape, meaningless maintenance markers, and synathrodial panel lines. And half of its armour is "sorta fabric."

This is incredibly dangerous and willfully so. They’re choosing to put this person at great risk, and many of the people participating are contractors along side cops from both sides

Last night, Border Patrol & Fisher Industries, with the cooperation of Mexican authorities, cut down the tree sit platform and safety lines, leaving the tree sitter stranded 100’ off the ground. She has no water or supplies.

Night of the Living Dead. Designing in black and white was much more of a challenge than I remember it being, but it turned out pretty damn good. #Theatre

I just gotta put this down somewhere that nobody will ever see: Sometimes I just buy a ton of salsa for lunch and chug it

Honestly I saw a tiny fragment of a Chucky movie that was playing at a movie store and that scared the hell out of me And then later, in a DIFFERENT movie store years later, I saw a frightened cub scout shiv him, which eradicated that fear

15 years ago when Apocalypse World was new and people were beginning to understand and work with it, it was seductive to look at "acting under fire" and see, not one basic move of several, but the template underlying all the game's moves. Like @kierongillen.bsky.social 's classic gag:

WHAT HAPPEN?

Finally wrestled these bad boys out of the hands of FedEx They definitely run a bit small, both in width and toe. Because they're real leather, I think the width will work itself out, but I'm nervous about the toe
