The lessons from Brazil and Serbia? Don't concede one inch of ground to the far right. Don't appease. Don't triangulate. Don't grovel. Don't say they have "legitimate concerns". Mobilise your base, and fight them with all the democratic means at your disposal.

I don’t know how people could say that programming and art are completely different disciplines when both workflows involve going ‘This will never work, I’m a failure’, changing one thing, then thinking you might be the smartest person alive

no one cares about trans women in women’s sports and you are, most generously, the worlds biggest idiot if you take it at face value as an earnest concern had by real voters

I just saw a vibe coder tell someone "Real devs don't use PHP" and that has to be the most embarrassing tourist ass thing you could possibly say lol

well, on the one hand AI has made things significantly worse for everyone in almost every capacity that it has touched. But on the other hand, the dumbest guy you know can send emails nobody reads really fast now. So it's impossible to say whether it's good or not

cannot stop laughing at people going "WOW, VANCOUVER'S RAN BY COMMIES NOW. THEY'RE GOING TO DESTROY ALL THE ROADS AND REPLACE THEM WITH BIKE LANES AND SHOOT ALL THE LANDLORDS. IF YOU YOU DON'T OBEY THE LGBTS YOU'LL BE THROWN IN JAIL. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? IS THIS WHAT YOU VOTED FOR???"

I feel like thinking a flying car is in any way a cool or good idea requires an implicit selective amnesia of how bad at driving the median driver already is when given a mere 4 directions to terrorize people across

If you would try to win by abandoning trans people (or any targeted group) you can save this “we need to win” talk; there is no “we.” I am about solidarity, and you have chosen anti-solidarity. You are not any “we” I recognize. You are the enemy I’m trying to defeat. Beating you is how my “we” wins.

Now is the time to care about everyone, not “once we win” The time to care about everyone is always always always now

seen so many gaming youtubers flip back to “oh wait maybe this is a good thing” once a vibecoded project is one they like can’t even stand for something this easy, imagine their positions on much bigger topics

But like... that's a profoundly stupid way to look at this? For most people $30k is the ability to buy a house, to escape debt, to get that medical procedure done, to simply have the runway to *breathe* for a second. It is absolutely *profoundly* life changing amounts of money for most people.

The "is AI slavery" discourse is exactly what the tech bros want. It doesn't end with fancy autocompletes having human rights. Its logic ends with you having fewer rights. If you believe AI is sentient (it's not) & are down with enslaving it (it's not slavery), then why do human labor rights matter?

using vibe coded AI slop to stick it to a massive corporation is the exact same vibe as when a conservative says they're the new punk rock
