The Trump administration has blocked at least $4.4 million for Nevada’s national parks, putting flood warning systems, wildlife conservation, and critical maintenance at risk. Our public lands are part of Nevada’s heritage and economy. We must protect them, not defund them.

Bottom line: Anyone building a data center in Iowa should be contributing to Iowa, not extracting from us. They should be paying full freight in taxes and carrying their own weight, not raising your costs for anything, and most of all - should be respecting those who were already here.

The government didn’t just approve Jackdaw, they also reiterated their support for so-called tiebacks - a dodge to allow yet more new drilling without new licenses. This deserves almost as much scrutiny as Jackdaw and has got barely any of it, so I raised it in the Chamber.

The chance to keep global warming below 1.5°C with no overshoot is gone. But urgent action can still limit the overshoot and bring warming back to 1.5°C by 2100. Current policies, however, put the 🌎 on course for up to 2.8°C this century. New #EmissionsGap Report: https://ow.ly/SNHX50ZZz8l

Yet another attack on science by an admin that’s endangering Americans. Being able to predict extreme weather saves lives and this ability is crucial to combat the impacts of a changing climate.

Wasting food adds pressure on forests.  Agricultural expansion drives almost 90% of global forest loss. Making better use of the food already produced can help reduce pressure on forests and biodiversity - an important reason to #StopFoodLossWaste.  More on #WorldFoodDay: www.stopfoodlosswaste.org

Some very good news for your Friday: 15 critically endangered frogs have hatched at London Zoo for the first time in captivity. A hopeful milestone for a critically endangered species and a reminder of what conservation can achieve. A tiny leap for frogs, a giant leap for conservation.

Britain has been on the wrong path for 40+ years. Our economy is geared to boost profit for the richest, not meet people’s needs - leaving families exposed when climate shocks hit. El Niño is a wakeup call. A new climate will mean lower living standards. We must change course.
