By the time the 2026 elections roll around, people opposed to Trump will have no idea who to trust Trump & GOP will spend the next 2 years focused on fracturing their political opposition I predict that GOP will gain seats in House & Senate in 2026 It will be 100% psy-op and sowing distrust

Chuck Palahniuk: "On a long-enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero." 'Effective Altruists' (sociopathic wealth-hoarding super-predators): "On a long-enough timeline, our unrestrained sociopathy might look like benevolence!" They intend to outlive all their victims... ASAP.

The "AI" bubble won't pop, because the rich tech bros who are building & financing it all tacitly understand they're trying to enslave all humanity and be pharaohs. None of them will derail that project by demanding payment early. They'll suspend any law or rule to get to empire. Toss your Econ book

The reason they built #EmDash is to crowbar #cryptocurrency into our lives. EmDash is Wordpress but with crypto payments built in. It's a Trojan horse to rope all the poor writers out there into breathing life into the slave-currency that Libertarian extremists like Musk and Thiel crave. Avoid it.

They failed to sucker us in with NFTs for shitty artwork, with thousands of rug-pull scams from Musk fanboys, with fake stories about "real" people using it, with lies about gas stations and third-world "investor education." So they're going after the poor writers whose livelihoods they destroyed.

if there's one conclusion that the study of both labor history and imperialism converge on, it is that the richest people in the world are happy to burn money on control, power, impunity. and the "everything is about profit" version of anti-capitalism does not survive serious contact with either

Adding to this thread: it’s a common mistake (I’ve made it myself, many times) to think of the motivations of the capitalist elites as essentially mercantilist: that is, that they are largely still motivated *entirely* by profit and loss, selling product, etc. This has not been true for a while.

Millions of people have are losing their health care right now Right-wing propaganda is consolidating and getting richer The Attorney General is aiding and abetting a massive conspiracy related to a sex-trafficking ring involving pedophilia We could have elected Harris, but we get this instead

If we are seen conceding in advance to a fascist push to discriminate against a minority group, we lose a ton of our voter turnout to depression and despair, even if they still intend to vote. The answer is to focus on anti-discrimination messages and frame them in American Values terms.

I think this commentary is completely misunderstanding Newsom's argument But I very much doubt that the people who hold to this line are capable of hearing the truth This is how Trump/Fox defeated Harris, and Trump/Fox knows it It's such an unnecessary misunderstanding I fear it may be sabotage

The user I was discussing is rebutting my argument (badly), but since they immediately blocked me, no debate is possible If you, gentle reader, look at my post history, I trust you will see that I am a reasonable interlocutor and an ally of trans & queer folk I will let it rest; judge for yourself

If you want to defeat the GOP in the 21st century, you need to be wary, every single day, that they are injecting their talking points into your own discourse about your candidates They aren't trying to win you over, they just need to persuade you that your side isn't worth supporting

Quite interestingly, I see that the person I was discussing blocked me I find that pretty suspicious It's what I would do if I were an agent provocateur trying to inject dishonest material into my opponents' camp But I'm sure trans advocates also face lots of harassment, so maybe it's that

What draws my attention to this thread is Newsom I know very little about him, but he's on my radar because I heard he might be a POTUS candidate in future So I keep my ears open for the reasons offered in liberal circles for *not* supporting him: are they any good? what BS reasons are there?

Mitch McConnell famously won all his elections, despite being quite loathed by most of his constituents, because he was very good at making his opponents' supporters abandon their own candidates That's how Harris lost, too: Fox/GOP gave *libs* many excuses to abandon Harris, and they did

Immediately after the 2024 election, I predicted that the GOP would gain seats in the midterms I still believe it I see nonsense like this as confirmation that things are playing out the way Trump/Fox is hoping Making the perfect the enemy of the good, we are well and truly cooked

It's about demonizing Somali Americans so MN GOP House Speaker Lisa Demuth can be governor. Demuth, her office staff, & MN GOP activist David Hoch brought in Nick Shirley to make a dodgy video lying about Somali daycares. Stephen Miller used it as an excuse to bring in ICE & CBP.

This stunt where ICE releases people far from home with no proper clothing and no way home should be treated as attempted homicide. In this case, actual homicide. These cases are not accidental or based on misunderstandings. They are deliberate attempts to inflict bodily harm.

Here's the truth behind Vance's words: GOP megadonors plan to seize all the money in the Treasury that currently gets spent on The People That's what they mean by "preserve": they want us to stop making withdrawals so our savings can build before they steal them wholesale A big, beautiful theft

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance: "Our social safety net will disappear unless we take fraud more seriously. So what I'm most worried about is that unless we preserve these programs for the next generation, they will disappear."

Woman dragged from her car by ICE: I've spent the last month learning names of torn tendons in my shoulders. What I haven't learned are the names of the people who did this to me. This is an ongoing fear & threat for people around this country. And we have not seen accountability

It's felt for months now that the fed govt is doing everything it can, including acts of violence, to make the Twin Cities unlivable. Vance's announcement shows that effort continues even if Trump's thugs aren't killing people in the street rn. I just don't see how this can go on for 3 more years.

The administration hasn’t backed off an inch from fucking with Minnesotans, and reporting that relies on federal sources to insist otherwise is contemptuous nonsense.

My latest piece. On how the murders of Good and Pretti relate to the murder of a Black Lives Matter founder's cousin. How the concentration camps relate to our carceral system. And how if we don't learn to fight American fascism from the inside out, democracy will never last.

IMHO, it is important that Woke 2 be deemed "excessive" by historians, "sweeping too broadly" with "punishments too severe." It cannot be merely a course correction, it must be an overcorrection. Nothing less will serve as an adequate deterrent against the fascists and their collaborators.

Jay Willis@jaywillis.net

Woke 2 is going to absolutely bury these people. It is true that in the time between now and Woke 2, they are going to hurt a lot of people, some very badly. There’s no way around that. But then, again, Woke 2 is going to absolutely bury these people.

Too late for regrets, you created the situation with full participation and enthusiasm, and were thoughtless of future consequences of those actions.
