Someday I’ll learn that just because @jparish.bsky.social says a game is of vast historical import doesn’t mean I have to have it. Someday.

@wildweasel486.bsky.social I want to love this game but the Japanese version is even harder than the US any tips or do I just need to “git gud”

SOMEBODY ON THE INTERNET IS WRONG!

Man this PHP vulnerability is serious

One more thing #columbo

So that’s why Sony has “live tv” on PlayStation now I keep having ads that interrupt other ads so you can have like split screen ads

Ok but I don’t even know how to go number 3.

It is 2026 and I bought a new CD. Sounds like for whatever reason (licensing?) it’s not coming to streaming services. I’ve been listening to it for 40 years and I figure 30 bucks to upgrade the quality for the next 40 is well worth it. #startrek #music

We are getting close for a big release, which one are you most interested? Comment on this post: - SimCity SA-1 - Super Metroid SA-1 - Top Gear II SA-1 - Other (plz comment!) The answers will help me prioritizing next releases 👀

@wildweasel486.bsky.social you seem like the person to ask. Is Golf (regular old fashioned black box golf) on NES unreasonably difficult or do I need to git gud I’m waiting for the answer to that before I follow up about nes open golf which I also have on Famicom

I don’t know why the #nytcrossword is kicking my ass so badly today. I usually don’t flounder until Thursday but I am out of practice, or at least that’ll be my excuse. And I even figured out the themed clues early.

How I arrived on bluesky

@randomstranger.bsky.social where/how do you buy stuff from Japan? I know you don’t just stick with eBay. I periodically try to find the RF adapter for my Twin Famicom (an-58c) but no luck so far.

Been watching a neurotypical three year old and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do so I bought all the g-rated Disney movie dvds I could find and a big box for her to play in because boxes are awesome.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

It's not exactly the most relevant for modern technology, but I guarantee a reprint of Michael Abrash's Graphics Programming Black Book would sell out in like a month or two. Feels like it's entered the realm of "historically important texts."

Wikipedia not only specifies that the apocalypse did not occur, but provides sources.

my origin video game was playing space war for atari 2600 in black and white with my friend across the street don't sleep on the competitive value of space war

Check out YATS, “yet another tetromino stacker” on #pico8. The author put a *lot* of effort into not just getting the systems right, but adding an abundance of customization options. Plays fantastic on my RG Cube XX. (I did a couple of music tracks) #retrogaming www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=159...

I am too young for a second midlife crisis but here I am.

Not the rerelease I was hoping for @st1ka.bsky.social

The world’s worst music studio. Or is it the world’s best? Every time I noodle with my dirt cheap gear it sounds awful and yet I have an inordinate among of fun just making noises that are starting to sound in tune.

up too late reading how CRY color was done on the atari jaguar. it's weird but TLDR; an 8-bit color lookup value and an 8-bit intensity. it stores intensity separately because that made it easy to do gouraud shading (you just interpolate Y between vertices.) at the end you do color * Y.

Re last post, if you haven't ever sat down and actually played Adventure for the 2600, you should. There's a learning period but after that it's shockingly fun and pretty unlike anything else.

I can’t improve on this post.

Foster son’s girlfriend has been bringing her three year old over and she’s very cute but I have no idea what three year olds eat other than chicken nuggets and applesauce please help.

Nintendo Switch 2 owners can save $99 on Grand Theft Auto 6's ultimate edition by breaking into Rockstar's HQ.

This is only $2 on the Nintendo eShop right now

I wish this was my life now

I do think “every rich person went insane during covid because it was the first time they’ve been inconvenienced in decades” felt a little reductive at first but damn if isn’t more and more compelling as the years drag on

even now, she's still teaching us

You know how in dreams sometimes your brain invents stuff that seems realistically plausible? This mystery gamepad from Malaysia might as well have arrived from a dream — I’ve never seen another, and I know essentially nothing about its origin. theatari.spot/blog/2026-08...

Yeah, but does your flat screen do this

Happy Caturday 😹

As my extended midlife crisis continues I’ve bought random crap to make music and while there’s a 99% chance it results in the same awful stuff everybody who does this makes there’s always the 1% chance I make an inexplicable masterpiece so I owe it to the world is my justification
