I talk about the intersection of sports, gender, politics and pop culture. Denmark’s only WNBA expert. She/her. Some writing in Danish to be expected.

This league continues to fumble the easiest wins. The potentiel championship-winning game is now at noon on a Thursday 🙃🙃🙃

BREAKING: Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be held Thursday at 12:30pm ET at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. It will be a double-header with the Atlanta Hawks’ game, which will be moved to 8pm.

this is ridiculous. The game should've just stayed at Gateway or moved to one of the other big arenas in the metro. To claim that moving a regular season MenBA game is "logistically impossible" with so little notice WHILE MAKING THE WNBA FINALS MOVE ON THAT EXACT SAME NOTICE PERIOD is sexist

While there was a lot of pressure to move the Cavs game from Thursday night to the open date on Friday… thereby creating difficult back to backs for both… or moving that game to Cleveland … from what I understand that was considered unfair and logistically next to impossible with so little notice.

I hate that my first thought was, "Wow, if the WNBA Finals end in 6 games, the players are gonna get really drunk at their 4pm afterparty."

honestly I kind of think if you can't think to come up with a plan for an arena for a clinching game before three days out, maybe you lose that home game altogether idk

I feel like two games, eight hours apart, played by different teams with entirely separate ticketing and even a different court on the floor, rather falls outside the realms of something that can be considered a 'double-header'. But maybe that's just me. #WNBA

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

I think the context makes this clip even funnier —the woman is Carolyn Swords, who was in the WNBA from 2011-2020 —the show premise is "pick a topic where you're an expert," she chose "basketball players" —Rob Lowe REPEATEDLY points out to the guy that she was in the WNBA —HE CHALLENGES HER ANYWAY

I would’ve ATE this whole round UPPPP! Did you guess all the players? The dude not knowing some of the goats of the W was disappointing but I’m surprised with the ones he got. So he’s good with me 🤷🏾‍♀️😂 #NBA #WNBA

The Dream's 32 points off turnovers ties a WNBA playoff record

Alexa Philippou@alexaphilippou.bsky.social

The Atlanta Dream take Game 1, 92-82 Dream's defense was outstanding in the third quarter; Liberty turned the ball over 21 times in all and ATL scored 32 points off those turnovers. DeWanna Bonner and Jordin Canada combined for 48 points (!) for Atlanta

One of one 👑 For 15 seasons, Nneka Ogwumike helped shape the WNBA as a star, a champion and a leader. From growing the game to making sure it’s in good hands until her very last dance, we are forever grateful. Thank you for it all.

We shouldn't have to sit through this farewell broadcast. Maybe the league had outgrown Mohegan, but it hadn't outgrown the Connecticut-area market. Really unfortunate the league didn't let them move relatively nearby. Great that the Comets are coming back; such a shame that the Sun are going. #WNBA

2026 FIBA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS 🇺🇸🏆 The #USABWNT claim their fifth consecutive and 12th overall #FIBAWWC title.

I’m deeply offended that the kiss cam at the FIBA World Cup semi finals games is only showing straight people. Come on, it’s a women’s basketball game!!!!

HISTORY FROM DEEP 🇫🇷🎯 France knocked down a World Cup-record 22 threes against Nigeria, with Gabby Williams (6), Marine Johannès (5) and Janelle Salaün (4) combining for 15 of them! Gabby also became the first French player to hit 6 threes in a Women’s World Cup game. #FIBAWWC

I want A’ja to take care of herself. (I’m also really sad that I won’t get to see the best player in the world next week)

A'ja Wilson has helped the US win two Olympic gold medals and two World Cups. She's played deep into the playoffs, including four Finals appearances, since 2019. And still, when I report that she's not playing in this World Cup for health reasons, I have people in the mentions questioning it.

I thought we had more time. Which is why it is SO important to appreciate greatness while it is here. Nneka Ogwumike will only go on to do more incredible things after her retirement from the WNBA, but I am going to appreciate every last moment we have until this season is over.
