BC is about to elect a far right government due to the spineless antics of neoliberals. Calling an election no one wanted while governing from the centre right as a so called soc dem political party

Tonight David Eby is going to resign, and then hand the province over to a group dedicated to screwing over First Nations. So seriously, f*ck him, his ego and greed for doing this, and wasting all our time for the next 4 years, fighting them.

"The other guy is crazy" strategy failed against Trump 2 out of 3 times. You make no compelling political case and you don't have a compelling record to run on. Weird that you though you'd win this.... absolutely detached from reality.

Supporters of the BC NDP and the Green Party share a lot of the same values. Strong public health care, protecting the place we call home, and asking the wealthiest to chip in more to build a stronger B.C.

Biggest own-goal of the 21st Century in Canadian politics. Bravo. Slow clap. etc.

i wonder what percentage of the electorate now understands that this man and maybe 75 other people like him are actively trying to destroy our lives. that he is the biggest national security threat we have faced, even moreso than bin laden or whoever. its got to be dawning on more and more people

NEW: Elon Musk gave his super PAC $76 million in just two weeks of October, and more than half of its new candidate spending went to one race: the Texas Senate fight against James Talarico. He’s now given more than $445 million this cycle, far more than he spent electing Trump.

Cartoon villain shit.

This means that the increased price of RAM and consumer electronics was a result of an artificial "supply chain crisis" created by Jensen Huang pushing NVIDIA's customers to take early delivery of GPUs. Jensen Huang is responsible for making life worse for everyone.

Ed Zitron@edzitron.com

NVIDIA seems to be channel stuffing, forcing Amazon and other customers to take early delivery. The argument that these things are "scarce" when you don't even have anywhere to plug them into is nonsense...unless NVIDIA is saying you NEED to take them now, or else. GPUs are stacked in warehouses.

this is the reason these questions are asked. it doesn't matter how well el-sayed answers, the media get to write a headline with his name and the muslim brotherhood in it. heated, islamist, implications, criticize, disavow, dual loyalty, scary man bad

Let’s learn from past crashes and be ready w bold transformative demands. No AI bail outs. No impunity.

Naomi Klein@naomiaklein.bsky.social

When the AI bubble pops, we can’t repeat past corporate bail outs. We need to be ready with policies that protect ordinary people and hold tech execs accountable. We also need to talk about nationalizing AI companies — or maybe even abolishing them altogether… @astra.bsky.social @theguardian.com

Many people seem to be passionately attached to the statement “Zionism is racism”. But it seems unnecessary, even gratuitous, to me. We can say all the things we need about successive governments of Israel and their horrific policies without having to make this generalisation.

I think the relative peace of the neoliberal consensus and the rise of technocratic thought led people into a false sense of security. The work never stops. It’s to always be mad about the thing you’re mad about. And one reason the right is winning is because they don’t forget that.

🇪🇸 🪧 Protests continue in Spain over housing crisis People are holding protests across Spain, calling on MPs to approve measures to tackle a housing crisis in a parliamentary vote. First Nations children are still waiting for safe schools, clean water, adequate housing and equitable services. Meanwhile, Canada somehow finds urgency when the “national interest” is pipelines, mines and major projects. Reconciliation has to mean more than wearing orange once a year. 🧡

We had a fairly prominent left-ish politician out here on the west coast turn into precisely one of those folks you describe there.

something to understand about the Jewish community in Toronto (and surely elsewhere) is how many have been propagandized into believing left-ish politicians are literally backing hordes of pro-Palestinian antisemites to terrorize Jews everywhere in our homes, schools, synagogues, etc
