What? THREE DOLLARS? Value of the century.
You can get a digital copy of BUBBLE from me, Sarah Morgan and @tangocharlie.bsky.social for $2.99! It's a funny, action-packed satire of the horrors of the gig economy and it was nominated for 2 Eisners! Based on the @maximumfun.org podcast of the same name! us.macmillan.com/books/978125...

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

That last one is particularly easy to mess up. We can trick ourselves into thinking that just because something is salacious, dramatic, or entertaining it's worth listening to, but ultimately consuming internet drama podcasts and videos give you nothing of value while making you less empathetic.

Looks like BBC Wales has made a series of audio Christies - here's Why Didn't They Ask Evans? (One of the first I remember reading).

Hey, we saw your post bemoaning the fact that media is conglomerating in the hands of a few billionaires, and thought we’d mention that you can, in fact, support independent, artist-owned media for less than you’d pay for any mainstream streaming service. maximumfun.org/join

the entire bioware situation is just another episode of how now, more than ever, YOU are important to the small indie things you enjoy getting somewhere. talk about the things you love. buy it physical if you can. make art. share links. don't just go 'everything i love is dying', that's how it does.

Whenever someone says that electricity is expensive because of decarbonisation, there are only two possibilities Either they are knowingly lying to you Or they are the victims of disinformation, and have been fooled by someone who was lying to them

I love Radio 4 Extra and it gave me some of my favourite jobs including Newsjack. I am gutted to hear this news, not least because it is my almost constant companion in my car. I want to be able to stumble across programmes that I might not have chosen to listen to - please sign the petition
Keep pushing this guys. The people who love this station the most probably aren't chronically online like we are so we need to spread this about a bit you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...

Fun fact, Laika movies very rarely make their budgets back at the box office, but they keep putting out bangers entirely because they have the one good rich boy in the entire ecosystem.

I am proud of my ability to choose friends who write such perfect capsule reviews. Sean's summation of The Princess and the Frog will live in my heart forever.
The Street Fighter movie is like watching a child ride a bike for the first time. They start out strong, get a little wobbly, hit a bump, get their balance back, then immediately veer into a life sized wax statue of Rush Limbaugh before getting attacked by a conjoined camel.
I've only heard good things about this, and the folks I know who've been are good folks, so if you can afford it and are OK with touching US soil, go fix your soul or something magical like that:

Alison says it all. Radio 4 Extra wasn’t an apocryphal service for superannuated listeners. It was a cultural resource and a reminder of a braver, expertly curated BBC.
I'll miss Radio 4extra. I don't think its listeners will transfer to seeking the same stuff out on BBC Sounds. That's not how it works. The station introduces listeners to stuff. And I'm using the plural because individual algorithms are a lonely replacement. I don't want to be a listener (singular)
