Guys, I am beginning to think that tech bros are kinda dicks who are destroying the fabric of our culture.

I don’t know much, but I do know this: After Trump destroys our economy, enriches himself, shatters communities, fuels hatred from sea to shining sea, makes healthcare inaccessible, weakens democracy & our standing in the world, with their dying breaths Republicans will gasp, “Joe Biden did this.”

SCOOP: The Department of Health and Human Services has been using the term “sex-rejecting procedures” to describe gender-affirming care for transgender and nonbinary individuals. The term is not clinical or medical. It comes from a Christian Right group. www.importantcontext.news/p/hhs-is-usi...

A newborn in Minneapolis hadn’t eaten for a day and a half. ICE agents took her mother when she went to work, trying to make money for diapers. Her 16-year-old and Bri, a local mother of two, saved that baby's life. @chabeli.bsky.social tells their story

A noteworthy takeaway from tonight's Texas result is that the Republicans spent a metric truckload of money on this race. They spent millions more than the Democrats. The loss itself aside, this is a gigantic, flashing warning sign for the GOP's finances.

At the rate we're going, Larry Ellison is going to have Paramount Pictures put out a prestige drama about the valiant officers who tracked down Anne Frank

As an average American consumer who watches some television advertising and buys drinks at Dunkin, I have seen the rise in the promotion of protein, from every type of food company. And all I can think is, "Those protein farts on the long family car rides are going to break up families."

Arghavan Salles, MD, PhD@arghavansallesmd.medsky.social

I thought this was a joke but it’s an actual post from the White House: “we are ending the war on protein” How about ending the war on the health of this country?

There is no statute of limitations for murder.

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

This is exactly what I told someone yesterday. Even if I spot you the first shot (I shouldn’t, but let’s go with that), shots 2 and 3 were inexcusable and this officer will lose his case if it ever goes to court.

Rumor going around town that ICE is going to be targeting local schools during drop offs and pick ups. Had to have a serious conversation with other parents about strategies to keep our kids and their parents safe. People are crying, terrified. But at least we’re free from terrorism

It's so fucking convenient that they get to "fear for their lives" anytime they want to absolve themselves of anything and when we actually fear for our lives because of them and do anything a scared person would do it's justification for our death.

TRYING TO FLIP” THE BOAT MEANS THE BOAT WAS CAPSIZED AND THEY WERE SHIPWRECKED IN THE WATER.

Q: What did you see in the second strike? Cotton: "I saw two survivors trying to flip a boat -- loaded with drugs, bound for the United States -- back over, so they could stay in the fight."

NYT (pre-election): Vance is right, Haitians are straining resources in this Ohio town NYT (post-election): oh, forcing the Haitians to leave is crashing the economy of this Ohio town

Pavithra Suryanarayan@pavisuri.bsky.social

This is the story the NYT ran today about the contributions Haitians have made to Springfield, OH and how much they have revived the local economy and the somewhat dire future that now awaits this town. Now contrast this with how the same paper covered the issue just before elections (posted below)

Not true. I see you're a luxury watch dealer. I'm also interested in watches. Let me show you how free and easy migration has allowed you to earn a living. 🧵

“I’ve seen some inmates just sit there and cry. Some cry all day." The conditions abducted migrants are subjected to at Miami Federal Detention Center are so abhorrent men staged a protest by flooding a toilet. Authorities responded by assaulting them with rubber bullets and flash-bang grenades.

I watched "Sinners" for the second time last night--accompanied my nephew as he was seeing it for the first time. He didn't love it, and that kinda bums me out, as I think it was the best artistic expression of Black American life I have ever seen onscreen.

But, having seen it twice, I can say that much of the dialogue is very mumbled. And since Ryan Coogler thanked Christopher Nolan in the credits, I have to believe he has bought into Nolan's "make it difficult for your audience to understand what your characters are saying" way of movie-making.

A US citizen with a learning disability who has just suffered a medical emergency asks a CBP officer for directions outside the emergency room. He ends up detained in an icebox for ten days and has the assistant secretary of DHS lying about him to the public at large. popular.info/p/us-citizen...

I am just a simple girl who doesn’t know much. But, I just finished watching Sinners and I know it is the best movie about the African American experience that has ever been made. It is a masterpiece that will be studied in film school for decades.

"I didn't vote for" you did. Sorry. You did. Should have listened to the woke libtards instead of your roided out imaginary friends who told you kids were pooping in kitty litter at school

It seems pretty obvious to me that our fascist president wants Canada and Greenland so that the United States and Russia can have this combined land mass linking us together, separated only by the Arctic Ocean. I despise him and his stupid evil plans with every bone in my body.

On Election Night Nov. 5, 2024, Sen. Wicker told me “call me any time” after I interviewed him about tariffs and other topics. I have contacted his office multiple times since then and only got a response today after I mentioned his comment in an email.

History shows that stripping the rights of one disfavored group is always just pretext for a larger aim of stripping the rights of others.
