AAPOR has released a new statement strongly condemning the fabrication of polling data following reports that another organization produced and distributed fake poll results under the guise of an experiment on data integrity and accountability. Read the statement: aapor.org?p=8490

In response to our questions, an NSF spokesperson said that SBE has not been shut down. But with zero SBE-specific funding opportunities, no review panels, and dwindling numbers of staff, it's hard to see the directorate continuing for much longer.

The NSF-Social, Behavioral and Economics website no longer shows any of the programs that used to be there or the program officers. The only thing available is information on the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES). It is now only in name at NSF www.nsf.gov/sbe
