Welp, that was by far the shittest gig I've ever played. No monitor, constant feedback through whole entire songs & repeated strobe lights despite us specifically telling them not to use those.

Ten years of relentlessly hateful, comically elitist anti-democratic politics across the white people world, helpfully summarised. The wrong people are talking, the wrong people are deciding and it’s harming the careers of important people who actually matter. Smithers! Release the hounds

Alright, to whomever on the Switch 2 Elden Ring multiplayer calls himself "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL", please know that you are the fucking MVP. I love you.

It’s astounding how some people I’ve come across don’t get that physical keeps digital prices in check by being an option second hand. Like at some point they must realize the $100+ game is guaranteed once Sony, Xbox, etc all keep you gated behind their monopoly stores.

Kind of surprising how so many elderly folks still want to go out and do stuff during 36°C heat. At least it's calm enough today that I can still chill indoors every half hour or so. Sitting in cars made out of mostly glass in this heat is not pleasant...

My mind immediately goes to the scythe cheese for final boss of Ninja Gaiden 2 (360). Equip the scythe, walk up to him, spam heavy attack, if you time it right, Ryu's animation lets him dodge under his grab attack repeatedly. I can do that fight properly now, but back then, this was the only way...

Also this has got me curiois, I really want to hear the first time people “cheesed” a game, or most memorable since the former might be hard to remember

The future of video games, if there is one, is increasingly looking like hacked together open source games running on whatever raspberry pi equivalents one can scrape the parts together for

When a person loses 1 sense the others are heightened. That's why people who have no sense of humor have an amazing sense of self-importance.

"We as developers and players need to push back against this bullsh*t just like we did with NFTs and crypto games and try in vain to do with predatory micro transactions, loot boxes and battle passes."

It is very funny to me that AI guys are pushing waterfall design methodologies because AI behaves better if you can hand it a detailed and completely well defined specification for every change you want to make and why

First gig of the year has happened and it was Heidefest! A great evening of nostalgic folk metal, glad to see it & Paganfest return!

The founder of Wayforward is usually listed in the end credits of their games under the job title "Tyrannical Overlord".

i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

This is literally one of the funniest threads I have ever seen. Brilliant.
