Never forget that the Alberta separatists are backed by the Trump regime & Russia #ableg #abpoli www.bbc.com/news/article...
Sooo...they're definitely a majority separatist party now. Looks like it's time to split up again. AND GO!
The question of moving on after the referendum vs. continue to press for independence splits UCP supporters nearly down the middle. This suggests the issue will continue to divide the party even after the Oct. 19 vote, creating an ongoing challenge for Premier Danielle Smith.

Doug Ford’s war on bike lanes isn’t about traffic—it’s part of a global right-wing backlash to vilify urban residents and defend fossil fuel interests. @breachmedia.ca dove into the politics of cycling, and debunked some myths along the way www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoCz...

Happy to read this. Carney says Albertans should vote ‘No to the Nine’ in referendum. For once I'm on the same page as the PM. YES to Canada and NO to the nine (and Premier Smith). And who cares about lanes. #ableg #abpoli #cnpoli

Sunny, windy Alberta is a leader when it comes to renewable energy in Canada. But new provincial policies are trying to rein in that growth. The Narwhal’s senior Prairies reporter, @drewanderson.bsky.social, explains.

Danielle Smith, how did your yesterday’s secretive meeting with the separatists and convicted Tamara Lich go? Why weren’t media and Albertans allowed to hear what you said to them? When campaigning for unity, we don’t hide. calgaryherald.com/news/local-n... #ableg #cdnpoli

Smith is using the contentious zoning issue to grab more power from urban centres in Alberta. Its authoritarian and must be unprecedented!! Are we all taking crazy pills together? We need some national coverage/analysis of this. Slippery slope politics.
With the latest provincial overreach, Danielle Smith is now ordering me how to vote at Calgary City Council. If I refuse, I risk losing my job. I want to work constructively with the province, even when we disagree. But we must be free to listen to residents and make fair decisions.

Every Calgarian knows that whether walking, cycling or driving, commuting Calgary has gotten scarier in recent years. Everyone has their opinions, personally, I think COVID infections multiplied by phone-brain-drain has made the populace less...capable...
A decade ago, Calgary city council approved a new pedestrian strategy that aimed to dramatically reduce carnage on city streets by 2025. Instead the opposite happened. We dig into why—and what comes next. #yyccc

Robyn's story of her life saving cancer meds suddenly costing $9000 every three weeks could be anyone you care about in our province. Just devastated for her and her family.
This is enraging, heartbreaking and wholly unnecessary. It’s also healthcare under Danielle Smith’s “refocusing”. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli www.facebook.com/share/v/1Dkc...

This piece, by @jaredwesley.ca and my high school debate club chum Don Padget is a very detailed analysis. But it can be summed up this way: be careful what you wish for. #ableg #cdnpoli #abpoli
Why should Albertans vote “no” on the four constitutional questions? Because we risk opening Pandora’s box — inviting another round of divisive and potentially detrimental constitutional debates that could well reduce, not expand, provincial autonomy. drjaredwesley.substack.com/p/pandering-...

And for those that say, why don't you compare it to staying in Canada. That is the baseline assumption. In 3/4 scenarios (smooth vs difficult, short vs long run) Albertans would be economically worse off. Only in the smooth projection after 20 years, would Alberta be better off.

YES!! Lets file a suit against the UCP gerrymandering too!!
Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins (R) tried and failed to force voters to use a gerrymandered map for the upcoming midterm elections. Now, several voters are demanding he pay $80 million in damages. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Im voting no to the nine and to remain by mail in ballot, & you can still order yours until the 25th. www.elections.ab.ca/request-a-sp... Lets make an overwhelming statement that prejudicial treatment of vulnerable people in Alberta is not okay but staying a part of a united Canada definitely is.

Everything this government does begins (and often ends) with one calculation: how can we help the oil and gas industry? Not workers. Not Albertans. Not even businesses. Just one industry -- one that's clearly captured this government.
The Alberta government is planning to take over the province's natural gas pipeline system to ensure tech companies and oil majors will have enough natural gas for their operations — even if it makes gas more expensive for Albertans, a leaked document reveals.
@ximenaka.bsky.social article on Smith's claims re: immigrants in Alberta is a deep dive into the numbers and explains that her dangerous rhetoric is divisive and props up racist attitudes that used to be fringe in our province. Well, maybe that last bit is my assertion. thetyee.ca/News/2026/09...
