ran the San Francisco marathon a few times and a sign that stuck in my head is a version of this: "Nobody made you do this" I repeat this to myself when I do other uncomfortable activities (steep hikes, visiting malls, etc)

an incredible, almost overwhelming, exhibit. one reaction is it’s unfortunate the work is not more evenly distributed across museums. there are many things I had never seen, even though I grew up in Philadelphia (where there’s one large permanent Duchamp gallery). bremser.tumblr.com/post/8307653...

Technology enthusiasts severely overestimate the average person’s desire or willingness or capacity to build and use AI agents. I understand some work roles that could mandate or encourage it but that is no way a tech revolution. Agents are best for structured, clearly delineated tasks.

Today the original artwork for 'Time Out,' by the Dave Brubeck Quartet, sold at auction for a record-breaking $576K. Its artist and designer, S. Neil Fujita, is part of a brilliant new exhibition at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. Here’s a piece I just wrote about him, and the show.

listened to this and took the afternoon off to finally see it. the formal language from 2500 years ago is astonishing and the "Linen Book of Zagreb" may be one of the most historic things I've seen - a text cut up and stained because it was used to wrap an Egyptian mummy.

Yes. I remember my mom standing up for herself whenever she felt discriminated against as a divorced woman. She got her bachelor's when I was in elementary school and then a law degree. She always had a strong sense of justice and she loved to help clients she thought were being treated unfairly.
