💯 There's been more, and more frequent, protests in the US than before. Tons of effort at all levels, including but not limited to special elections, the 2025 elections, and the upcoming midterms. All sorts of societal resistance, from jury nullification to objecting to Jimmy Kimmel's cancelation.

statista.comInfographic: Number of Protests Has Picked Up Since Trump’s First TermThis chart shows the cumulative number of protests per day of U.S. President Donald Trump's first nine months in office, by term.

The US is not about to have a free and fair election. The state has put its thumb on the scale to favor the ruling party in multiple ways. It's a mostly free, somewhat unfair election. But still one where the ruling party can be overwhelmed by numbers. Hence the term "competitive authoritarianism."

It is atrocious we have to operate under this constant credible and explicit threat from one political party, the fact we keep calling it a “free and fair election” needs some light revising

Another stunning defeat for a Trump-aligned right-wing leader in Europe. Serbian students voted out their authoritarian leadership after months of protests against corruption, taking their fight from the streets to the ballot box and turning people power into political power.

There are some people who claim "oh, Dems in blue states will never shift towards enacting anti-trans policy" Meanwhile Colorado is literally enacting a medical detransition protocol for trans youth on medicaid.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Rather than cover the cost of gender affirming care for trans youth under medicaid, Colorado is voluntarily enacting the republican "taper and detransition" policy for youth on medicaid and dropping coverage. WTF.

Meta up to their usual tricks again ???

⚠️Meta’s alleged interference in Brazil’s election is a warning for democracy everywhere—including the USA. If platforms can shape political visibility in Brazil, they can do it anywhere. www.panamericandispatch.org/p/meta-emplo...)

I’m so very proud of Brazil today, they voted for democracy and told the jailed former dictator Bolsonaro and his equally disgusting son to go fuck themselves. Let’s keep that going. 💙👊

Most of the assholes in the MAGA regime including those in the bulldozed White House couldn’t even get a job cleaning toilets because they're all drug addicts, alcoholics, predators, abusers and convicted felons.

One interesting thing to look for on this map are the "Wing" devices. Wing Gateway is Flock's option to integrate third-party video cameras into their network to run their AI surveillance on! ⚠️ "AI-Powered Alerts: Automatically identify & receive alerts on suspicious activities" archive.is/KK0HB

If you're actively mapping Flock cameras for deflock.org, this site provides some useful data about where to look if either your local city/PD won't reveal the locations, or for cameras under private contract such as HOAs/retail. 👉 flocksurveillance.org NB. This data won't be updated over time.

Heads up. A Senate bill being sold as “permitting reform” could seriously weaken protections for our public lands, clean water, historic places, and sacred Tribal sites. S. 5653, the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act, would narrow environmental reviews and
