Write a short story in the robust world of Heaven's Vault! For the sickos out there, you're even allowed to use Ancient.

NEW OPPORTUNITY: Short fiction writer? Love the world of Heaven's Vault? ... then come play in the waters. We're looking to commission 20 short stories set in the Nebula for a new anthology. Paid, obvs. Full details and a link to the form on the blog: www.inklestudios.com/2026/10/24/t...

Rare books, a bunch of hand made hand tools, lots of matsutake mushrooms, wine, some made to measure clothes and suit(s) of armor. Maybe a restored 1920s wooden sailboat.

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

It was only a few years ago that I learned a lot of people get derailed/mad when they read words they don't know/don't know how to pronounce. When I was growing up I tried to figure out meaning through context and if I couldn't do that, I'd look it up. Never cared about pronunciation while reading.

they are on Threads fighting to the death over whether or not it is ableist for an author to use the word “scrying" (people might not know the definition!). how beautiful. people staring into their phones and getting so emotional over “scrying.” perhaps there really is magic in reflective surfaces!

not the first person to say this, but video games' closest artistic sibling is theatre, not film. immersive theatre, for sure, but there's overlap in less-experimental, proscenium-style plays as well

I believe you can become jaded with the industry without losing passion for the craft, the medium, the collaboration. I think there's a bright center you never have to lose even as the oppressive cruelties of the business wear us down. I believe this because it me.

Wow, it looks like Linux might actually be finally usable for normal people and support the software we need to make games. Strongly considering moving over.

I’ve been in game dev for 26 years and I can’t remember any other time where a specific tech was being insistently and persistently pushed on devs as a group in the public sphere. Why would it? Cui bono? Why would any given dev have an interest in other devs using tech they don’t have a stake in?

My conspiracy theory about genAI in games blowing up more and more by big companies is that they’ve all got a ton of investors insisting they use genAI tools otherwise they(investors) won’t be able to bankroll em anymore

Yesterday, the Epic Games Store decided at the last minute not to distribute the game, after having previously approved a release build. HORSES is otherwise now available on GOG, Itch, and Humble for $4.99. www.horses.wtf
