Hey question: Have any of the police leadership that sat outside of Uvalde during the shooting been held to account? Good guys with guns

Of course not. The usual discourse in TX is to buy more guns. Btw, you all know TX is the major supplier of weapons for Mexican drug cartels, right? It actually is very difficult to buy guns in Mexico. Legally.

Even BORTAC had delay but they wanted a master key! The cops should of had it after 45 minutes! Not going in ? So BORTAC at least entered the building and got the shooter hiding in a closet! All failed those kids and parents! They held parents back! Epic failure!

Of course not! The White majority leadership doesn’t care about hispanic communities. The White Nationalists considered it a blessing. You should be more surprised that they weren’t handing out medals to those cowards with GUNS!

the camp which lost 27 little girls & a teen counselor plans on reopening much to the disdain of the grieving parents, they were charging $8K per child, the money’s just too good to pass up-one little girl has never been found

Guns are never needed in civil society or the hands of non military people. Buy meat in yhe supermarkets. If guns were banned you wouldn't need them. The 2nd Ammendment is just that an amendment that can be amended the founding father wer pacifist.Grow up US.

Originally set for October 20, Gonzales' trial on 29 counts of child endangerment and abandonment was Uvalde school officer Adrian Gonzales was delayed to January 5, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas Former Uvalde CISD Police Chief Pete Arredondo's trial is on hold, just ask Ken Paxton what the hell?

They are cowards. They’re only Macho when there 10 of them and one unarmed shoplifter, a homeless person or an undocumented 70 year old or 7 year old undocumented immigrant. Just publish their names, addresses, faces and phone numbers of all the cowards. Let the world know of their cowardice

A Texas judge on 12/19 refused to throw out criminal charges accusing former schools police chief Pete Arredondo and former schools officer Adrian Gonzales of putting children at risk during a slow response to the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting. Of the over 400 officers these 2 were in charge.

Every Fri when I go grocery shopping there's a man who comes in wearing a gun on his belt. The safety loop is off. I live in AZ it's an open carry state. I go grocery shopping at 7am so it's me & the people stocking shelves in the store. Having a gun doesn't make you a man.

Find a professionally arms-trained individual to come to the store with you some day at 7 a.m. Have him seize the weapon from that guy's undone safety loop, empty the bullets on the floor, and tell him "open carry" or not, the next time he walks in there with the safety off he gets pistol-whipped.

I would argue they were not good guys with guns. At best they were cowardly guys with guns who listened to children get slaughtered for 77 minutes. At worst hey are a criminal gang who hide behind a badge and have no interest in serving the public.

Have any of the people who authorized the Iraq War, without declaring war because you and all your ilk have long been cowards about that, or who presented the false pretext for it, been held to account for the millions dead and trillions handed to the military industrial complex?

I was in the Navy, I’ve seen more than my share of grown tough guys who shit their pants when guns start barking, it’s the scariest experience of your life and if you weren’t trained you’d be dead. These guys were posers, like most local law enforcement, local wannabe heroes get kids killed

I always remember that one cop, shouting in frustration saying "Guys, what are WE doing??" While the cowards hid behind walls listening to gunshots, and casually pumping sanitizer onto hands... that never did an ounce of work that day.

Hey Question: Has anyone held people who voted with Trump 93% of the time and voted to take away the ACA accountable? Poser good guys who voted against the American people in favor of billionaires.

I bet a bunch of them got paid leave to deal with the trauma. Unlike the kids and parents who, you know, dealt with death, devastation, and lifelong pain they will never get over not being there to assist, or worse, told to stand down when trying to.

Beto tried to stand up to those in power & got dragged out. Abbott was on that stage first thing praising the law enforcement that allowed all of those kids to die.

A lot could not pass the physical, even after they lowered the standards. Also failing background and drug tests along with the academic requirements. Over 200 recruits started training even though they did not pass. The vetting system is in shambles.

I’m actually interested, not pointedly but curiously, on your transition on this issue. Because gun advocacy has been a core issue for any kind of Republican officeholder save for like, 90s NYC, my whole life.

Question: what are Republicans doing about this other than enabling it ? The January 6 criminals were pardoned for fucks sake. Under this administration it’s a free for all get out of jail for rapists and pedofilles.

Police then were also holding parents back from saving their own kids, and one woman who got her kids out made the news and then faced harrasment by the police afterwards.

A pregnant, Somali woman was pushed down to the ground, held down by the ICE's knee, and then dragged across the blacktop street. By that time, she appeared to be unconscious. She lost her baby. That man needs to be behind bars. It was in the Minneapolis, MN, news. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnKT...

Nope!!! That’s Texas. Overweight men in body armor, with shiny badges and those BIG cowboy hats??? They can never be held accountable. As long as they’re “one of yours” they can’t be held accountable because if they’re are, the “libs” win… Somehow…

I don't think that is all that facetious. It's understandable that you can't require cops to rush a heavily armed shooter by law, but we should expect and demand that you're hiring the kind of people who would consider doing so a moral obligation.

It's difficult to reply cause I lived right outside Uvalde when this happened, will always be so sad. Leadership not held to account, praised by Abbott. No heroes that day, only cowards. Mostly Hispanic cops there, so wasn't a race issue of the kids. Parents tried to rush in, but held back. Damn it!

Well maybe because our SCOTUS also determined cops don't have any responsibility to protect the public, famous case about a decade or so ago, cops in Castle Rock, Colorado were sued by the family of women who was killed by her ex husband who she had a restraining order, she went to the cops begging

Them to arrest him because he was threatening her, they ignored it, he killed her then went to the cops office and shot them and died in return fire from the cops. SCOTUS ruled cops have no responsibility to protect the public, this with qualified immunity allows cops to literally allow murder

If even good paid with our taxes guys with Taxpayer-supplied guns and training are not the answer, I think we can put that whole nonsense response to bed. The answer as per every study and real life example has to begin with gun control. I do wonder how well those cowardly men sleep at night.

They followed their oath To Serve And Protect to serve themselves and protect their lives, why would you expect anything else? Just cause you would risk your life for a child doesn’t mean they Will. Grown ass men with body armor, helmets and guns are only for when brown people threaten property

One of the saddest parts of Texas’s leadership is that they love to go on and on about “vote for us so we can fix the problems” yet THEY ARE THE PROBLEM. Texass has been under the reds thumb since 1998. All the issues that state has now has NOTHING to do with Dems.

No. There's only one person who could have ordered the officers inside to hide and take cover from the shooter who continued to murder students and teachers: Greg Abbott. 19 officers were in the hallway outside the classrooms, waiting for approximately 50-60 mins before the gunman was confronted.

Plenty of guns in Europe. They're not shooting each other. My wife's from the Philippines. They love guns. Her nephew owns a gun store. They're not shooting each other, let alone shooting up schools. Guns aren't the problem. America's sick culture is the problem.

No, it's the guns. There are exponentially more guns in the US than in any other country, and many studies have shown that just having a gun in your house endangers everyone in that house. If you value your life and the life your family members, don't keep guns in your house.

Nope. Wrong. It’s the guns. There are more of them here than people. And they are TOTALLY unregulated. Switzerland requires all able bodied men to serve and own a weapon. But they lock them up when not training. More guns per capita, WAY less shootings.

Simplifying a serious issue, and with misunderstandings (TOTALLY unregulated), is not helpful when trying to solve complex issues. And while we're on "locking up", I'd be all about safe storage laws, with draconian enforcement. No 2A issues, no kids grabbing dad's gun. It's a small start.

Both, actually. Switzeland has more guns per capita than the US, sure. But also... is there any good argument for people owning guns ? Also gun ownership is much more regulated over there, and I think regulating guns in the US would be an easier first step than vague notions of "changing culture".

The 2A is the elephant in the room that no one addresses it in these conversations. It exists and the courts have always upheld it to mean a right for individual ownership. Those are facts. Changing the Constitution is all but impossible, that's an opinion. tl;dr: No easy solutions ATM.

Hey Adam, has anyone determined if the Uvalde PD accepted federal grants earmarked for active school shooter training. Some stories at the time of the shooting claimed deputies had new bass boats and trucks without any further explanation. Can we audit the department and definitely rule out fraud?
