They started refilling the #ReflectingPool on 6/4. The algae came back and was noticeably consuming the pool in one week 6/10. Trump starts arresting ppl on 6/20. Why doesn’t he have his $14Million buddy come fix it? This is all meant to be a distraction from his failed Iran deal.

The irony is that the reflecting pool debacle *is* an incredibly reflective, shall we say, example of how Trump is as President and how he's always been. Incompetent and full of hot air.

Trump eliminated "contracting rules" previously used by the federal government to award contracts to vendor. Normally, there would be some sort of Request for Proposal from the govt, contractors would respond and show they have the expertise to accomplish the task. No more. Just POTUS friends.

I was under the impression that the bottom was porous just enough to cause a little bit of water circulation. By sealing the bottom they stopped any water circulation and made the environment even better for algae. I could be wrong. I’m no expert.

The Left is very powerful, and used mental energy projected on the surface of the reflecting pool and undid all the work Trump has done! Right!

It was likely an adhesion issue with the paint to the surface - lack of priming the surface and not allowing the paint to fully cure before they rushed to put water back in the pool for Trump’s dirt bike and blood sports birthday bash.

The granite base of the pool provided a natural irrigation which kept the algae. Sealing the natural (designed into its construction) drainage is the cause. Trump is the Greatest Asshole

And, if you want to add one to the list of political sins here... There are at least two places in DC alone where environmental chemists deal with (among other problems) algae in water systems on a scale larger than this, and nobody has bothered to consult with them.

The hydrogen peroxide did not strip the paint. The paint came off the unprepped surface all by itself. There are hundreds of contractors who could refurbish the pool correctly, but i wouldn't trust these bozos with any outdoor project. At least the orange one has a swamp to drain now.
