Recently switched from Safari to Brave. On the one hand, why should I switch again. On the other hand, if Firefox offers a tool that makes switching easy and also offers better user experience, it is worth a shot. But if I have to relogin to every media website I subscribe to, then it is a no.

I admit I did not think about it that way. Still logging in to websites is the number one reason I don't do something. Want to read an article in Rolling Stone or Wired and I have a subscription but for some reason I am logged out. Eh, article wasn't that critical, I'll do something else now and

maybe read it later. Want to book some travel and the website requires a login? Eh, I'll probably find some other way to book. Want to buy something at CVS but it is behind a locked cabinet. I guess I'll but it somewhere else. I'm impatient that way.

The browser was supposed to be a simple client that provided access to any Web information source. Now it has more complexity than the operating systems we were using to create it. All those millions of lines of code mean a vast amount of vulnerable code surface.

...this sounds like a good plan? I've used Firefox for years, but I haven't liked the direction the people in charge have steered it lately. But this seems good, so maybe brighter days are ahead.

oh interesting, the hardest part is knowing when to ship vs when to keep iterating. have you noticed how we just built and shipped, learned more than months of planning changes the whole dynamic?

OK, this guy is speaking my language. I don’t know why it’s so hard to *let users decide* if they want AI stuff, but this stance stands out

He’s head of Firefox. Anthony Enzor-Dimeo is CEO of the Corproation; he replaced Laura Chambers, who had replaced Mitchell Baker years ago.

Thanks for sharing this! Mozilla has some interesting ideas to share around AI, but those have been covered extensively elsewhere. I wanted to focus on core browser features in my interview with him.
