Comer: "We care about the people that are gonna lose -- ah, that could potentially lose healthcare. But there are people that can't afford healthcare. We've gotta get people off Medicaid and into the workforce and into private healthcare."

We’ve got to take people’s healthcare and get them into several low wage jobs each so they can buy their own healthcare Comer 😆😆😆😆

For three years running, our corporate insurance rates went up 20% per year. Getting people into "private insurance" simply puts more money in billionaire pockets. It doesn't improve healthcare.

How many Walmart employees are getting healthcare through Medicaid or the Marketplace? We’ve been paying for that for years because they refuse to employ people full time so they don’t have to provide it. Don’t get me wrong, I have no issue helping those people, we all should have healthcare

How convenient is it that the TrumpGOP doesn't release the jobs report? Jobs are disappearing 25% of jobs don't provide healthcare There are already work requirements. Only 8% are not working. Facts are the TrumpFoxGOP's kryptonite

JFC, he sounds like my dad. These idiots don't get that there are LOTS of 'full time' jobs(39 hours instead of 40) that don't offer health insurance? And self-employed folks. My dad always said, "Go get a job on the line at Caterpillar and you'll be set for life. It doesn't work like that anymore.

Girl, you are preaching to the choir. Everyone thought I was SET working for corporate America, but the reality was that all the people at the top were sucking up all the revenue and stiffing everyone else. The old-timers don’t know that fact.

Yeah, nothing like the corp insurance. You still have to pay a big chunk but they contract for the cheapest coverage they can get. I was so lucky to have retired right before my cancer diagnosis. Had I still been working I would be bankrupt right now.

And even if they do they only care about the bottom line. The employees pay a big monthly nut and don't even know what they are getting. I remember my co switching to UHC ("you'll save $5/month!) and my basic, yearly labs went from $20 copay to $270.

Companies love keeping workers just broke enough to qualify for government assistance so they (company) don't have to provide those benefits themselves; it's a far corporate subsidy. It should be the opposite: no more hourly. All salaried, all benefits, top to bottom. AND universal healthcare.

They don't pay the way they use to either. They too have become the corporate greedy assholes. My Dad retired from Deere. Raised 5 kids. Owned his house. It was no CEO job either.

Yep - In the 60s and 70s, you could raise a family with an entry level job at Cat or Deere. If you can even get an unskilled job there anymore, you certainly can't raise a family on your pay.

Uninsured does not mean unemployed. Not every employer offers health insurance. People are out there working their asses off that don’t have access to group insurance. Your hairdresser, local restaurant server, small business owners trying to get by.

Now, if only any of that made sense. How does this dipshit get elected? Is nobody running against him? Will a sensible person please run against this knucklehead.

I'm technically still poor, I guess, and I know Trump is a moron. I live in a red state, a religious one at that. The lady talking about indoctrination and cultist community is spot-on. They need to blame someone for the failures of society and the system without having to actually be accountable.

They grow up with "just have faith" and that belief is all you need. So the systems that prey on the gullible, uneducated and indoctrinated minds continue to push the idea that it's other people who are also suffering who are to blame without having to demonstrate it as fact.

Those who are removed from the culty environment generally know their fellow man isn't the problem because they suffer side-by-side and see they are good people, too. They seem to distrust politicians and the system in general. This is just what I've observed. I'm sure others have seen different.

And the reason 47 wants it gone is to say he got rid of President Obama's achievement. Itsy the only reason he wants the Nobel Peace Prize. And it does not matter what he does, he'll NEVER be the man President Obama or President Biden are. He'll always be a low life MFer.

I live in a red state and the most ardent Trump supporters are less poor white folk and more small business owner types and farm owner. Genuinely poor white people are just incredibly cynical and believe neither party will help them.

Her point was the poorest people didn't vote at ALL. People who voted for him were middle class white supremacist and Christian Nationalist types, plus small businessmen & farmers who were snookered into thinking Trump from "The Apprentice"--big Daddy Warbucks--would improve the economy.

An Aussie journalist went undercover in QAnon forums. She found exactly as you. They weren't the generational poor. They were people who followed the capitalism steps to success - hard work, investment, growing small businesses - and ended up poor. (1/2)

Basically: "Where's my house and car and kids' college fund? I did everything I was meant to. So my situation isn't MY fault. It must be someone else's fault. Like... Biden! Hispanics! Blacks! DEI! Woke! Trans!" That explains the gleeful harm to marginalised groups. (2/2)

Some MAGA lady was going off about how the negative stuff was only supposed to hurt "them poor, and I ain't a poor. I make 50k a year..." 50k isn't terrible, but girl cant miss any checks without feeling it, so spare me.

Another prominent republican making the argument for Universal Healthcare. "There are people that can't afford Healthcare..." they need better jobs is not the solution and they all damn well know that

People cant afford healthcare so were gonna rip them off medicare We care about people who are gonna lose it. Despite claiming no one will. Theyre falling apart.

They just show how out of touch with REALITY they really are! People on Medicaid are NOT able to WORK & many are Seniors, children, young adults, particularly those with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, and others in low-income households.

I think the GOP should go out into the REAL WORLD and get a LOW PAYING job and SEE what it's LIKE! They sure as hell AREN'T ENTITLED to their SALARIES since they're working for Trump & the RICH, NOT the avg American!🤬

People working two-three part time jobs are not eligible for health insurance Many companies do not offer health insurance or hire part time to avoid offering care Private insurance? Cost are high, deductible is high… and they deny coverage republicans are out of touch with those they represent

He’s trying to make people think he cares. He voted for the bill that took the subsidies away from Americans and gave tax cuts to the wealthy who have more than enough. He doesn’t give a crap about Americans, he just wants people to think he does.

If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know, let's spell it out. We need to get everyone on employer sponsored health insurance so healthcare is even more expensive for the people and the lobbyists for those companies line our pockets and PAC's with even more money.

Private healthcare in the US? Might as well be slavery. Human trafficking of a sort. It's a licence for a few big, non-caring organizations to strip people of what little they have left. Republicans are the WORST people ever.

Has this idiot seen the jobs numbers? How tf in the US can working people not afford healthcare but we have $50 million dollars to bail out soybean farmers, AGAIN? Where is the $17 billion in tariff money Trump claims we made? What are we paying taxes for? This asshole is on another taxpayer paid

If you work retail or any other low paying job (notice I did not say unskilled - every job involves skills!) it is rare that the job comes with insurance. People on Medicaid and subsidized ACA mostly have jobs! The jobs just don’t pay well and don’t have insurance!

Mmmmm yes, private Healthcare! My employer-offered health insurance is complete garbage. It negotiates nothing, covers barely anything, and forces me to pay everything out of pocket and then file a claim for a payout. It's basically Healthcare Casino.

Yeah, that's gonna work? Take their healthcare away so they'll get a job? What about the thousands of jobs Trump's ending? What about the thousands of people who can't find jobs now?

Fine. Mandate that every employer pay their employees a living wage and provide affordable health insurance. Most people who are not children or elderly on Medicade are working.

Someone please explain why this seems like doublespeak. 1. ACA marketplace has insurance in one place with tax credits because not all employers give Healthcare. 2. Some state programs assist low income earners to be able to afford a plan on the ACA. It’s State & not Fed Medicaid.

"We want to make sure health care is tied to employment so there can never be any work place unionizing or general strike. If you are sick, elderly, or disabled, fuck you, because we cannot extract capital or labor from you, so you don't deserve to exist." That's basically want they mean.

Why won’t one reporter ask him what he thinks a typical person who works 40 hrs a week making an average wage will pay for private healthcare? I bet he has absolutely no idea what it costs and how people already struggle w/high prices on everything

MUCH less than they used to... Many employers copied the Microsoft model of "contract" employment, starting the 90's. The "1099 employee." Medicare for all is well beyond necessary. We remain the ONLY industrialized country on the planet w/out Universal Healthcare. Disgraceful.

Republicans want to take public funds for Medicaid, nursing home beds and re-allocate those funds to fill “privatized” prison beds on the backs of taxpayers. Taxpayer funded enslavement costing about the same as a college education.

THEY SAY "GET PRIVATE HEALTHCARE" AS THEY'RE CAUSING MASS LAYOFFS IN THE GOVT & IN COMPANIES ACROSS THE NATION THEIR JUSTIFICATION FOR RAISING HEALTHCARE COSTS IS: GET A JOB THEIR POLICIES SAY: YOU'RE FIRED PLUS THEY KNOW AI IS ELIMINATING MASSIVE AMTS OF JOBS RS ARE GASLIGHTING AMERICA

The majority of people on Medicaid are children and seniors. So I guess we should go back to child labor and working until you die? And isn’t it ironic to say getting a job will save you while your leader is firing people left and right and the hiring market is totally flat? Just shut up, please.

I wonder how some people in wheel chairs are going to be able to pick crops while trying to keep pace with the guy with the prosthetic leg. The cancer patient who has to work on an assembly line? They say ''Only able bodied people, but they get to say who's really able bodied.

Like Trump said'' I love uneducated people'' which seems strange because he's uneducated and stupid himself. Yes,he graduated from Wharton, but classmates said he paid others to take his exams. Like Carlin said'' They don't like smart people, they want people just smart enough to run machines. etc.

You are an asset to the State, until you become a liability to the State. Liabilities are removed from the population A cultural revolution requires the removal of intellectuals from the population. History, rinse/repeat.

So out of touch he thinks all jobs offer “private healthcare”. I worked in healthcare 32 years and only had the option of insurance 5 of those years. The other 25 years I had to buy my own (until the TX Risk Fund outpriced me and I became uninsured-until Obamacare.)

"Gonna lose --ah, that could potentially lose" It looks like he caught himself in a Freudian slip there and stopped it before it came all the way out. He knows people will lose their healthcare because he voted to take it away.
