COLLINS: You talk about 15 years of Obamacare. But that also means Republicans have had 15 years to come up with a solution and have not yet done so. ROGER MARSHALL: I'm not sure what we can say

The key thing to note is that if you write legislation then you own it but of you do nothing you will take no blame. Repubs do not want to own a replacement to Ocare they just want to beat Dems over the head with it forever.

They can say Republicans are failures. They spent years being rabid about identity & culture politics and taking rights away. All that time and effort put into electing Fed Soc Judges and implementing Heritage Foundation plans but no healthcare plan tells everyone all you need to know.

Didn’t Donald Trump — our president — say his “replace” health care proposal (the best ever in history) was going to be ready in “about two weeks”??

He doesn't even have all Republican votes. It's DOA. And BTW, anyone can reduce the cost of healthcare by reducing what it covers. They have no intention of pressuring insurance companies to reduce their charges, or drug companies to reduce the cost of their drugs, or physicians to take less.

Healthcare inherently requires insurance because of the wide variance in risks and care costs. It *cannot* be addressed through personal savings. Fortunately, that financial structure makes insurance the exact right solution. Unfortunately, republicans simply cannot comprehend how insurance works.

A brief walk down memory lane... Republicans have been lying about having a healthcare plan for decades. Paul Ryan whined incessantly about his healthcare plan being ignored by the Democratic house, but for some weird reason, when he became speaker of the house, he didn't introduce his plan. 🤷🏼

The Republicans are: Lazy, Indolent, Slothful, Shiftless, Loathing, Sluggish, Lethargic, Slow, Heavy, Dull, Plodding, Remiss, Negligent, Stupid, Don't give a fuck, Moronic and Hate the American people...I could go on, but what is the point? They don't have a plan!

Pretty hard for them to come up with an alternative when Obamacare, which was once called Romney Care, is the plan from Heritage that was the alternative to HillaryCare.

The Republicans have no interest in providing Healthcare to their constituents. They don't believe in any help, of any kind, for anyone. They've wanted to do away with Social Security since it was enacted, and it pays for itself! Trump says he's we get $2K to buy our own. Should buy 1 month.

You could say: “Honestly, we rich maga christians do not give a hot shit about our ignorant, uneducated, unEvolved Paleolithic rural idiot supporters or their fucking healthcare. And it’s great because rural magas are too fucking stupid to ever figure it out.”

Given the ACA was based on ‘Romneycare’ & the original mandate hailed by the Heritage Foundation in the 1990’s, it’s all the more bizarre. Typical churlish GOP nonpartisan nonsense. 🤬

Have they put forward a specific bill that people can study and understand it’s impact? Has one hearing been held on it or a Committee considered it? Public testimony? Suggestions on how it might be improved? Cost estimate?

I think accusing them of having any kind of "intent" across the Party gives them too much credit. The Republican party has been vibes and memes since GWB's second term. Having ideals is a political liability. They just go along with the crowd, smile, and nod.

NOBODY is doing the long -term thinking. They never see past the next quarterly report, because their donors don't, either. Their lack of a healthcare plan is a result of simple apathy and boredom. They just don't want to think about it. Memes and vibes.

Of course he doesn’t. This sack of shit has Not had an original idea in his entire tenure of representing my state (where he doesn’t live). He’s like a seat filler at the Oscars. This is a facile way for them to keep running against Obama, who, you may remember, was black, with an unusual name.

Republicans don't know what to say because they have no healthcare plan and never will They don't care if people die as long as isn't them They have free healthcare that taxpayers provide

Republicans are the ones who broke the ACA when they sued to remove the mandate. People seem to lack a basic understanding of how pooled risk works. Systems like this require healthy enrolees who don't use the system as often as someone who is sick. It makes it affordable for everyone.

Obamacare has improved the lives of tens of millions of Americans. It has been a huge success. Could it have been better? Sure. Why wasn't it? because Republicans have been focused not on making it better, but on destroying it.

Say what you will about the Healthcare it has been labeled socialist for some weird reason, but as someone who has had the pleasure of experiencing it, you get significantly better care. Furthermore, it costs their taxpayers significantly less than ours does. Yeah, it's terrible...

The only country where more people are employed in healthcare insurance than actual healthcare. Health insurance serves no purpose except to 'steal' money from both patients and providers with the sole aim of making a bunch of parasites rich. Most other countries already know this 😞

"I'm not sure what we can say...but we can rule out, 'Republicans have found a better alternative to Obamacare.'" For that matter, we can probably also rule out, "Republicans are looking for a better alternative to Obamacare."

Putting people with pre-existing conditions into a high risk category is what we had before Obamacare and it was a disaster. Those folks will never get insurance again - they’ll die or go bankrupt. Probably both.

MAGAt's focus is on destroying any good that Dems have done or will do. It is not about what's good for the country. Their laser offensive focus prevents them from fulfilling their oaths of office. This will not change so long as they have the majority. That makes it crucial that they be dethroned.

Republicans came up with a solution 14 years ago. They started passing legislation to weaken the ACA/Obamacare. First by reducing the penalty for not getting insurance to zero. The rule is still there, just no consequences by not getting coverage. It resulted in higher premiums for those that did.

You can’t, they don’t care maga , about the people in our country having Healthcare!! Oh but trump got Covid and got the best care,, Screw the rest of America !! I do think trumps is dealing with long-term Covid problems , that’s why he’s acting so unstable and falling asleep

You can say: Obama stole the Republican plan created by Heritage Foundation and we don't have any backup; we certainly cannot credit Obama with adopting GOP ideas and there's no way we will promote the only real alternative: a variation on Medicare For All.

What's he's saying is so fucking gross. why are they getting away with saying high risk pools for cancer patients without acknowledging that they are shitty expensive plans, that put more of the financial burden on people facing life and death healthcare choices?

MARSHALL: This is a hard problem to tackle ME: the Big Ugly extends tax *breaks* for corporations and the wealthy. Change that and offer Universal Health Care (what's hard to explain is the Rs desire to steal from the bottom half wage-earners and expect them to have tons more money for healthcare)

REPUBLICANS CAN SAY: We have prevented all meaningful progress in America for as long as we can and we will keep on doing it with everything. Including healthcare. Keep electing us!

Please note that Roger Marshall was/is a PHYSICIAN. Mr. “I don’t know nuthin about healthcare”. He’s done nothing for Kansas, and presently lives in Florida. Great system we’ve got here…

Roger resign. If you have to be told what to say you don't represent your constituency. You represent a view that is not yours. You don't know right from wrong and don't have the balls to be a senator. You are not supposed to be supporting only your party. You won a state election. All ppl in the state.

All cowboys hat and no cattle. Talk big, bitch and complain, stamp your feet, throw a fit, but not one alternative solution. Because they know that they have to go against Big Donors. Until you get the $$ out of politics we will continue down the same path.

since 2017 HR 1628 – American Health Care Act / Better Care Reconciliation Act HR 1628 – Health Care Freedom Act HR 5378 – Lower Costs, More Transparency Act HR 1215 – Protecting Access to Care Act of 2017 HR 1833 – Working Families Flexibility Act of 2025 S. 1629 – Same Care, Lower Cost Act

I stand corrected. Two of those are basically comparable to ACA, but would have cost more or lose benefits. The rest aren't actually healthcare plans they are just legislation related to healthcare

The ACA passed with 60 votes. Its consumer protections saved thousands of lives and cut bankruptcies. The law wasn't allowed to control costs of private insurers, only to provide subsidies gor liw income folks to purchase private insurance.
