I am supposed to fly out of BWI tomorrow which means the rest of my life is now a mystery. Do I wait in line for 7 hours? Stay in Baltimore forever? Hitchhike? Live off the land indefinitely? The joys of living in Trump’s America!

Even without TSA uncertainty, you’d be damn-near guaranteed to have a TERRIBLE fuckin time at BWI. Especially when you’re home airport is MSP (which is so lovely, I miss it).

I'm in Maryland. 4 hrs is what they are saying to get through tsa, 2 of those hrs outside. Where are you heading to? I love amtrak

I don't know where you're flying too, but at a certain point these airport wait times have to make trains more attractive for mid country travel.

If you're going through D concourse and there's only one TSA line (no precheck), you'll come to a fork in the line just before they scan your ID. **Take the line on the left.** The line on the right is ≈5x longer but can't tell until it's too late. Learned the hard way and barely made it on Thurs.

I think it depends on your airline and departure terminal. If you’re on Southwest or you chooses to use the security gates in the terminal occupied by SW- you are doomed. BWI is an airport for non-frequent flyers.

Uber your way south and watch spring sprout, hear turkeys calling for a hook up, and laugh at the killdeer taunting the dogs in the fields until things get better. Oh, the WiFi is pretty good too.

Not sure where you’re headed but you’re probably better off switching flights and going to DCA or IAD. I saw minimal to no lines at IAD, (personal observation - I flew out and back here) and reports seem to be mixed but any delays at DCA seem to be hrs less than BWI (I have not flown DCA recently).

No wait in TSA lines this morning at DCA. Did just see an ambulance and firetruck go past the window with their lights on. I hope everyone is okay, but haven't seen any delays yet.

No, he really didn’t. The media didn’t report on the half dozen plane collisions that happened under his administration. Imagine if Duffy went on a promo tour after a massive train wreck that has still poisoned a town in Ohio, ignored it for two weeks and when he did address it blamed Buttigieg?

Got through TSA Security in about 5 minutes today at BWI - no line at all. Much improved from Friday/Saturday. Now, I'll just sit and wait for several hours for my flight.

For what it's worth, my son flew out of BWI this past Tuesday evening. His wait in the general security line (no pre check, no Clear) was only 7 minutes. Hope all goes well for you.

My son flew to Florida from Chicago, his other friend took Amtrak. My son was diverted to Nashville, so between that and the 4 hours in line in Chicago, his friend beat him there and had a much easier trip. I’m honestly considering it myself. I’d rather just read a book then have all that stress.

Especially for shorter trips it makes sense to take amtrak. No city parking. Usually get off right mid-town. There are delays from freight trains who own the tracks, but you are in a seat where you can work, or read, or nap. It's all quite relaxing.

Live off the land. We are going to Walmart tomorrow to stock up on canned food. The forcast is like y2k and covid combined. But seriously folks..I worked at a wholesale natural foods distributor during y2k... don't panic buy pallets of wheat unless you have a proper way to store it.

A couple days ago I flew out of Boston. No line at security. Actually not really any security. While digging into my carry on for a mint I found a knife I had forgotten from my last road trip. I was already at my gate.

Drive. Have some self respect. I guess you could take a train from Ballsmore to Lake Erie, board the old Edmond Fitzgerald II (ships are meant to be female) to Duluth, hook up with some trappers moving south and arrive home having seen some stuff. Or stand in line scrolling for hours.

My brother had an early morning flight out of the international wing and said if he had showed up at normal time he would have had a normal wait. Instead he showed up at 445am and waited an hour and half for staffing to show up. The SWA side is worse from what I gather.
